City vs Southampton

Must win game. Especially so after the dippers dropped two points away at Arsenal.

After midweek....I'd play Delph at LB. Mendy is Mangala in disguise....I'm really not convinced he's all that good.

I'd also like to see Sane given a start instead of Mahrez too, but that won't happen.

My preference is for Delph and Sane. That's what I wrote first time but I've changed to what Pep might pick.

Mahrez does so much more than Sane though, he is a Pep player you can tell.

That's why Sane is back to being a sub. It's his own fault and a little disheartening as he has the world at his feet.

I think Mendy has to play in these kind of games where we’re expected to win comfortably. His delivery into the box is fantastic and we’re more likely to score a hatful with him in the team than without him. He had a stinker against the Spuds but was actually ok v Liverpool when asked to rein in his attacking instincts. I agree that Delph’s more solid defensively but at home v the likes of Southampton we ought to be looking to boost the goal difference.

Brilliant stuff, could easily have been more than 6. Silva and Sterling almost unplayable, deserved goal for Leroy, Stones & Laporte rock solid and Mendy was ... Mendy.

Massive goal difference already too. Need to open that gap now. Starting with derby next week.

Cant say enough about how immense Sterling was today. Even if he hadn't got 2 assists & 2 goals the sheer intensity of his play game after game still amazes me. Sane starting shows that Pep does select based on form as well as other factors although this makes me think Marhez is a cert for Wednesday. Mendy was the weak link again & lost the ball several times, but I'm hopeful he will be back to his best soon.

Apparently, we've only allowed 10 shots on target in our first 10 games.

We let Southampton have 6 shots on target yesterday.
