Think your right with Bravo but will pick Foden for Rodri.
Hey its Pep so wouldn't be surprised if he picked Merlin at CB and Walker up front. Second guessing the bloke is only possible if you have a psychic on speed.

Be seriously disappointing if Foden doesn’t start this one.

I don't think he started the games against United. Which is why I don't think he'll start against Villa. Same goes for Garcia.

DO you really think Pep won't pick Silva for what could be his last final with us?

Be astonished if Dave doesn't get on the pitch at some point.

Re: VILLA v CITY
I think you're right that he won't start TD. His playing time recently has been almost non-existent, hard to say why really given that the league has gone, and top 4 pretty much nailed-on. You'd think he'd be getting the occasional start as part of his integration into the starting line-up for next season once Silva's gone. Winning a trophy while being on the pitch from the start would do him the world of good.Topdawg wrote:I don't think he started the games against United. Cancelo didn’t even make the bench is he that far out of favour now or is he injured?

Re: VILLA v CITY
We’ve not seen much of Cancelo at all since we signed him. He certainly catches the eye going forward, but isn’t great at getting back into position if we lose possession in their half. Maybe that’s the problem he needs to work at. Surprised to see Silva and Foden both start.

What is it about Stones, he is just a mistake waiting to happen.

I was willing to give Stones the benefit and hope he could turn his decline around but after just gifting t Villa a goal 4 minutes before halftime he can do one now.

How the heck are they still in this? Great half from Foden. I think Stones might be pissed.

Re: VILLA v CITY
We were building our future defensive hopes a year ago on the centre back pairing of Stones/ LaPort now that’s in tatters with injuries and the inability of Stones to produce any kind of run of consistent good form.
We need to sign at least one CB in the summer.

Who’d have thought Bravo and Stones would combine to save us at the end!? Another tin pot for the cabinet.

Re: VILLA v CITY
Tbf to Stones I dont think hes been 100% for the last 18 months. LaPorte is going through the same thing recovering from long term injury, it takes its toll on the body and I wouldn't be too upset in neither of them get picked for the euros.

Re: VILLA v CITY
Foden really impressed me,really needs to be given a decent run in the side now
League is gone & CL qualification more or less secured if we can overturn the cartel
Irritating just how many opportunities we continue to pass up,been a constant issue all season

Re: VILLA v CITY
I agree Lee - Stones has hardly had a run out for months now and TBF he slipped today - just like Kevin did. I know he's not brilliant but he needs to play more regularly and get back to fitness. Otamendi has made plenty of gaffes too - and I think he will be gone at the end of the season.
Foden was excellent his ball control was superb. Bernardo was excellent too when he came on - don't know what's up with Sterling.

Re: VILLA v CITY
Sterling is buggered Wensdi. We've won 2 titles and he's competed in nearly every world cup game and at the end of last season he played in all the qualifiers. Then the daft bat came back for full pre season training instead of taking the time he was due. Which along with most of the team doing the same has lead to niggles and game fatigue.

Re: VILLA v CITY
I honestly thought sterling was our worst player on the pitch. Then I read the ratings of both sides on the bbc. Really what game were the voters watching? I know it is all about opinions but every opportunity to put anyone down. Stones had a decent game only one mistake ? accident which could of happened to any one inc Stevie Gee!!!!! Bravo and I admit I am one of his loudest critics, deserved far better because inn all honesty he didn't put a foot wrong and saved us at the end. The bit that pleased me about Bravo was his no nonsense approach to clearing the danger if need be. His coming for high balls and making most of them his either a punch or holding onto them. Credit to him. Foden and Rodri my 2 star performers for city. Would love to know the problem with Cancelo as I feel he has looked good whenever I've seen him play?

Re: VILLA v CITY
I am sure he is not 100% fit yet Lee but its the mistakes he regularly makes when in the side that are frustrating and thats not really a fitness issue.lee1pen wrote:Tbf to Stones I dont think hes been 100% for the last 18 months. Re: VILLA v CITY
Maybe some of the mistakes are down to his body not delivering like it used to do. Recovery isn't just a physical but also a mental readjustment and it's more noticable at the back were a slip is a goal. With Kun after injury he takes a couple of games to tighten his game up.

Re: VILLA v CITY
Fair enough, you could be right or he's just suffering from a lack of self confidence.
However, he's been with us over 3 years and as far as i'm concerned he has never progressed and reached the potential we thought he showed at Everton, i really hope he turns the corner and remains injury free for a while and shows us that he is the player we hoped to see him become, IMO i dont see it happening but its all about opinions
We have struggled defensively this season with Stones and LaPort's injury issues highlighting the lack of cover in those positions. Otamendi is not good enough for me and i would like to see Garcia getting more game time, hopefully on Wednesday.

Re: VILLA v CITY
Great day out again. Thanks to Rich as always !
I too thought Foden was superb especially considering he was out of position again. Bravo didn’t have a great deal to do. As always with him I was nervous when he was passing it about at the back but to be fair he was excellent and obviously came out with the outstanding match saver at the end. Stones played pretty well but unfortunately for him his one mistake changed it from a comfortable game to an unnecessarily more difficult one. I said from when we first signed him I didn’t rate him & I still don’t. Think I even mentioned getting Maguire at the time but was laughed at by some. I honestly don’t think giving another 50 mill to Everton for Holgate is the answer either. Sterling was again a disappointment I’d have him on the bench for a few games & stick him on for 20 mins at the end if needed. Mahrez is a far better option at the moment.
