Evening news ratings for utd
quite simply a fucking disgrace to his profession,to print that shit to keep in favour with baconface is just dreadful. The twat should be sacked

Rating 1 (Abject) - 10 (Out of this world) Rating Definitions Login to rate
David De Gea -
Could do little about any of City's goals and saved well from Dzeko when United went in search of salvation. Has the right to question those in front of him
7
Chris Smalling -
Switched to the centre of defence after Evans was sent off, but could only watch as City began to cut United open at will
6
Patrice Evra -
A torrid afternoon for the Frenchman. Won't have been happy that two of the goals came down United's left
5
Jonny Evans -
Just when he was beginning to establish himself at the heart of the defence, shown red when he hauled back Balotelli straight after half time to really put United up against it.
5
Rio Ferdinand -
Will ask how City were allowed to attack in wave after wave. Was left chasing shadows as Silva, Balotelli and Aguero ran riot
5
Ashley Young -
Runs down wing were promising early on, but his effectiveness dipped as City got to grips with him. Failed twice when handed a glorious opening in second half when the score was 1-0
6
Anderson -
Some loose passing early on put United under pressure. Lost Silva in build up for City's second goal on a difficult afternoon for the Brazilian
5
Nani -
Nowhere near as effective as he was in the same fixture last season. He scored one and made one in that 2-1 win, but was well-contained on this occasion
5
Darren Fletcher -
Couldn't keep a hold of Silva who dictated the match. Won't have been happy with the space the Spaniard had in the build up to Balotelli's opening goal, but scored a brilliant one of his own to salvage some pride
6
Wayne Rooney -
Dropped deep in attempt to be United's Silva and while he pulled the strings more than anyone else in red, he couldn't find a way through City's impressive rearguard
6
Danny Welbeck -
Pulled City's centre backs around with his movement, but simply didn't get close to Joe Hart's goal. Even harder for him when United went down to 10 men
6
SUBSTITUTES
Phil Jones -
(Anderson, 66) First act was to slide in vain as Aguero put the game beyond doubt
5
Javier Hernandez -
Nani, 66) Had an impact by setting up Fletcher's goal

Re: Evening news ratings for utd
Our ratings were pretty much spot on,
Utd didn't play that badly, just that we played them off the park, took our chances, were merciless at times...in fact we did to UTD in their own back yard, what they've been doing to many, including us for years, no sympathy, and just desserts for the 4-3 and Rooney's overhead kick, which gets played in SKy's credits, but BT Vision have YaYa slotting home the winner in the semi in their advert!
Joe Hart
Dealt comfortably with two long-range efforts before half time but might yet get chased up for his entrance fee because he was largely a spectator until picking Fletcher's effort out of the net.
7
Gael Clichy -
Had a busy afternoon with Nani and Smalling raiding down City's left but still found time to turn United once or twice.
8
Joleon Lescott -
Sometimes tagged as the weak link in the back four but not here. Solid in the air and on the floor.
8
Micah Richards -
Hardly gave Young a kick and kept Evra going backwards. Capped an accomplished performance with a pinpoint cross for Aguero.
9
Yaya Touré -
Asked to continue in his deep lying role with de Jong left on the bench. Kept his discipline despite the urge to bomb forward.
8
David Silva -
The creative cog in City's powerful midfield. Balotelli will get the headlines for his goals but the little Spaniard was the best player on the pitch, and probably in England at the moment.
10
Vincent Kompany -
Took a calculated booking when he dragged back Welbeck with United threatening to break. Never afraid to follow Rooney into deep areas.
8
James Milner -
Wonderful vision to cut the ball back to Balotelli for City's first before laying on the second. Deserved standing ovation.
9
Gareth Barry -
Mopped up the pieces in front of Kompany and Lescott. Neat and tidy in everything he did until losing Fletcher for the goal.
8
Mario Balotelli -
Lit up the derby with two cool finishes and gets booked for unveiling a novelty t-shirt. Just a normal weekend for Mario.
9
Sergio Aguero -
Quiet by his explosive standards before tapping in Richards' cross for City's third. Replaced by Nasri with the game won.

Re: Evening news ratings for utd
you get mauled 6-1 and you have players with 6s and 1 with 7!!!
even if we hadn't got those late goals, utd players didn't deserve to score so highly.
when we win 4-1 against the villa, out guys struggle to get past a 7, yet when utd get stuffed they managed 6s?
ashley young was worth more than a 6 for me as he had micah in trouble early on.
anderson was pants and should have been sent off and conceded a penalty.

How can they say Rooney's Utds "star man" when they give the hapless keeper a bigger score ?

Perhaps they should have rephrased that

I thought Gareth Barry was superb today, most his work seems to go un-noticed but he gave Utds midfield nowt (baring the goal apparently ). Brilliant, absolutely brilliant performance imo.

Looking at the number of clear chances we had it could well have been 10. And I don't think they had much comeback if they had taken all of their clear chances (1 or 2 if that)

A more realistic assessment of the ratings. Would have given Milner more than a 7 and Dzeko more than a 6

Re: Evening news ratings for utd
Milner was deffo MOM - he grafted until he was subbed. Silva is just magic for me. Barry is our most under-rated player - Micah has improved 100% under Bob - Aguero made a difference - and Mario has decided he wants to play for us and take Tevez's place. Clichy is also under-rated IMO. In fact, hang on- I love 'em all. Great performance after a shaky start. Still buzzin.

Re: Evening news ratings for utd
I don't get how Rooney got a lower rating than De Gea either. Rooney was the only red shirted player on the pitch to make any kind of sustained effort.
The Telegraph ratings weren't great either. Dzeko gets a 6? He came on with 20 minutes left, scored twice, should've had a hat-trick, set up a third, caused United's centre backs untold problems with his running and he gets the same score as Jones, who came on and did nothing! Weird.
Milner should've been MOTM last weekend against the Vile and he was a bloody good shout for it again yesterday.

More realistic would be
De Gay 3 Hart 6 (didn't have to do anything)
Smalling 5 Richards 9
Evra 3 Kompany 8
Evans 1 Lescott 8
Plug 3 Clichy 8
Anderson 4 Toure 7
Nana 4 Barry 8
Fletcher 5 Milner 10
Young 4 Silva 10
Rooney 6 Aguero 8
Welbeck 5 Balotelli 9
Jones 4 Hernandez 4 Dzeko 8 Nasri 6 Kolarov 5

I wouldn't give Dzeko an 8 because he missed two great chances.

Re: Evening news ratings for utd
He did miss 2 chances but he scored 2 & had 2 other good shots as well & was only on the pitch 20 mins so you've got to be pretty happy with that. Hopefully it will give him a bit of confidence again as he was badly going off the boil
I'd imagine he'll probably the main striker for the CC game

you mean we are going all the way to wolves and aguero won't be playing?
i hope we don't take this game lightly like we did last year. win and we are already into the q/f
