I think the difference is confidence, when we scored, we looked like our old self again, but a win is a win, and atleast we ground it out in the end!
And YaYa is back, and not only will he make things tick in midfield, he'll restore some belief in the side, and once Pizzaro gets a run in the side he'll make a difference too.
There's also talk of Tevez wanting to come back to the team too.
Still top, with players coming back, but Mancini took at risk with that team selection.

Woeful in attack......back to last year and all over again. There is a difference this year....we are top and have spent huge amounts of money. If that is acceptable, 3 points and a win from a Lescott goal....then i'll take the PL....but play like this from now on in.........in ain't gonna happen IMO. Other more adventurous teams would punish us. Mancini needs to realise this after 60 mins.....FFS - kill the game off....instead of holding out for a 1-0 win. They should've equalised but for Hart.

Have to agree with Blueboy Wensdi, sorry. But yes, am happy to still be top. My management style would involve a fair bit of hairdrying when required though. If chasing, put the pedal to the metal and wear them down. If ahead, put the pedal to the metal and wear them down. Show no weakness, give no mercy and watch everyone else crack. Watch the British rowing team with Pinsent and Redgrave over the years. Utterly destroyed everyone via attrition with the above approach applied at the right time - the balance point of the competition. Now is where we should be wiping all hope of being beaten out versus anything but the worst conspiracy of circumstances and watching the others scrap to even cling onto hope.

That's probably where we miss Yaya, but more so when he was playing in the advanced role he did last season, not the deeper role he has occupied for the majority of this campaign.

For example Stoke in the FA Cup final, Yaya, playing just behind our strikers was there to lash the ball into the back of the net, we put a few balls into that area today and there was noone there.

It's an odd kit, a bit of a lash-up of last season's first away shirt with the shorts and socks from the year before. But we'll probably only need it the once. Apparently we can't play in the home shirt as it's too close to their blue sleeves (we had the same thing with West Ham and Burnley in seasons past as well) and we can't play in the red and black because of their claret being too similar.

Yeah, I know, if a ref can't pick between the sides with such tentative similarities then there's no wonder they can't do the job properly...
