Re: Tactics V's City
Ha!
Sounds about right!
First game I've seen Bent and Keane so anonnymous in a game, I think we need to credit our midfield and defence on a job well done, if we'd buried a few more chances in the 1st half we'd all of been a lot less agitated before Lesvott scored.

Trouble is this seems to be every game with any team lower than 6th position.
Master this and I don't think anybody will stop us ......

Re: Tactics V's City
The thing is, before xmas we were not taken seriously, but since teams have realized that we are the team to be careful of, and so managers are setting up ultra defences against us.Now whenever we play away we are goi come up against ten man defences, but as proven at the weekend,if we stick at it we will break it down.
But on the other hand ,Villa should have been buried in the first half,we missed at least half a dozen clear chances.WE are still creating the chances but we are not converting them as we did, where was Dzeko,I am sure he would have had a field day against that defence.

Are they calling it "ultra defence" now? I thought it was parking the bus. Oh well... but yes, if we can carve these apart, we'll beat anyone.
And we've been missing chances for months now. We NEED clinical finishing!

Leo
ultra -parking the bus-ten man defence, they are all the same.It comes down to the fact that other teams are very very unsure of what we are capable of.
You are getting picky in your old age

Re: Tactics V's City
I think you might be right, Bob. I'm sure there's an age you get to when you stop being open minded about new stuff and start getting set in your ways. Like I can't listen to Radio 1 any more because it's full of shouty guys who want to pop a cap in someone's donkey or take their hose for a ride. And they are all calling each other by names that would make Patrice Evra cry. Or equally shouty women whose only remit in life seems to be having lots of sex. And for some reason they always tell us what their name is on the records - is that in case we forget who they are? Or is it because it's the same old noise and it's the only way to tell them apart?
I've also noticed I tend to rant more as well. Hopefully nobody's noticed

Re: Tactics V's City
we know what's coming so we should be able to adapt.
like i say, if we score early, we can run riot because these defensive teams have to change tack and attack us and we are much more likely to score when they think of attacking us.
you are just an old bugger now leo.

41 .... still a baby, by the way where are all these women who's only remit is to have lots of sex, they seem to have passed me by!.
As for the early goal, spot on that would make teams come out and try and play football against us rather than the blunderland/villa approach.

Re: Tactics V's City
I think Mancini got it right selecting AJ for the Fulham game, if they are going to sit back and defend, then someone like AJ with quick feet can buy a penalty, or get someone sent off to make the job easier!
I'm hoping that when Tevez (hopefully) is fit again, there will be someone who will drag the game by the scruff of the neck into City's favour, like him or loathe him, looks like he'll be back soon, and he'll have a point to proove to the fans, which can only be good for City!
