It's all about the money...or is it?
Manchester United: De Gea (20m) Jones (17m) Ferdinand (30m) Smalling
(10m) Evra (6m) Giggs (-) Carrick (19m) Park (4m) Scholes (-) Nani (15m)
Rooney (30m) TOTAL = 151m
Manchester City: Hart (500,000) Zabeletta (6m) Kompany (6m) Lescott
(20m) Clichy (6m) Barry (10m) Yaya (24m) Nasri (20m) Silva (22m) Aguero
(38m) Tevez (24m) TOTAL = 176m
That doesn't take into account inflation at all which would bring the totals much closer.
It's interesting that united spent half their money on their defence whilst we spent 75% on our attackers.

Jeez, did De Gea cost £20m?
Saying that, i still can't belive we got screwed for the same amount over Lescott
How big a bargains were Little Joe, Clichy and Vince?

It's always the same old guff trotted out by the talkshite brigade, who bleat the same, tired, regurgitated fallacies, again and again.... urban myth like until they all believe it.
Best player on the pitch, and has been the best defender this year, Kompany, a steal at 6m, Best keeper in the prem a paltry 500k!, Zab Man, who uses his greater tactical nouse and positioning sense to thwart the so called stars of other teams, again and again, you could add De Jong to that list of bargains too, and Richards.

Re: It's all about the money...or is it?
I always find it hilarious that we're the ones being lambasted for spending and yet everyone overlooks the small matter that United broke the transfer record when they blew £30m on a defender. And this happened years before anyone else spent that much on anybody!
Considering that, at the time, the costliest defender was about a fifth of that price (and I'm probably being generous there) it does make a mockery of the insistence that they never bought the title.

Is that an actual, provable fact, or are you just spouting gutter press garbage again?
We can all spout refutable facts, lad. Try this one on for size: One PL club takes 20% in TV revenues, far more than any other, and has done so since 1994, after the FA told Murdoch he couldn't buy the club in question. Guess which one?

Re: It's all about the money...or is it?
is it the same club that bought a defender for £30M some 10 years or so back?
back in those days petrol was about 50p a litre. now it's nearly treble that.
what would that £30M be worth now? £50M??? the mind boggles.
you can't go back to 78/79 when trevor francis was sold for £1M and not look at the landscape before trying to say he was cheap compared to today's transfers.
betcha RWC wasn't bleating about what teams spent when city spent fuck all

Re: It's all about the money...or is it?
again who's moaning here, you lot have been bankrolled by rich arabs from a team who has not won a carrot for 35 years to a team thats now on the brink of winning the league for the first time in 43 years.
Face facts, the arab money has done it for you.

Re: It's all about the money...or is it?
sorry, burglar, has anyone denied the fact?
it was you that said city spent more in the last 3 years than anyone has in 20 years - yet fail to back this up with any proof.
it is your type that complains about city's wealth whilst ignoring where your money came from and still comes from.

If you are so concerned about facts look up a few.
City have not outspent anyone in the Prem. The gutter press and so called
'fans' like yourself have created that impression. If memory serves me,United
started it all off with the money they spent on a certain D.Law when purchased from Italy, and prior to that the money they received when they exported a certain C.Mitten to Argentina.

Re: It's all about the money...or is it?
Not denying it. It was the only way we'd ever catch up with the perennial spending machine across the Irwell. Which, if memory serves, was going to be purchased by Murdoch, he was told to sod off by the FA as it would be a conflict of interest, then suddenly the TV rights are skewed in favour of a trio of clubs who play in red shirts. And at a time when TV money would buy a whole player and not just subsidise one.ONH wrote:again who's moaning here, you lot have been bankrolled by rich arabs from a team who has not won a carrot for 35 years to a team thats now on the brink of winning the league for the first time in 43 years.
