Lampard, US bound?
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfers-frank-lampard-drops-1773604
I know we've discussed this previously and after his recent performances we all thought Chelsea were bound to offer him a new contract, but with only 9 games remaining he's still no clearer about his future.
Talk of a move to the MLS is now circling, so why has no-one from the PL stepped in to offer him another season or 2 in England?
Surely we could offer him atleast a 1yr rolling contract to stay, i think he'd be a terrific signing and one that could just score those extra goals from midfield that we've been so lacking this year.

no brainer, I wanted him in Jan. He'd put in the effort we need to win more games.

Re: Lampard, US bound?
I was talking to a Chelsea fan a few weeks ago and she was gutted that Frank wasn't being given a new contract. I said I'd have him at City in a heartbeat and she said we'd be mad not to at least try and get him.
Normally I'd not want to go near players at the tail end of their careers (Vieira, Sylvinho and Maicon leap to mind), but since we're waiting on Garcia to become good and Nasri to bugger off and leave room for someone more committed, he'd be an ideal short-term fix and he'd probably love playing alongside Silva. And if he can still bang in the best part of 20 goals a season, well, like my Chelseas supporting friend said, we'd be mad not to.

Re: Lampard, US bound?
As I said in Dec/Jan, if he's available on a free for 1-2 years, he'd be great. He wouldn't command a massive salary (I'd be surprised if he was paid more than £60k p/w) and he'd be fantastic at showing the slackers how you need to work hard to be at the top of your game.
He'd get the challenge at a new club, still playing champions league football, challenging for the title and giving Roy all the reasons he needs to keep playing for England.
It'd be a no brainer all round.
