The Derby.......................
Very disappointed it's on - on a Monday night - which is 3 pm here. Really torn whether to take a day off work to watch it live. If I record it - then I have to stay off the footie sites all day so I don't see the score - but then some ar$ehole texts me one way or the other. If I do take the day off then it will spoil the whole day - if they lose. It really should be on the weekend. At least the FA Cup semi is a Sunday. I know Zab has been spectacular this season but I would like to see Micah play against the rags - he was outstanding last time. Hope they could both play.

Re: The Derby.......................
I think it's to do with people drinking etc, but then why not a Saturday morning?
I'm sure there must be another reason to do with the football calendar. Could you not just book half-a-day? You'll be gutted if you waste a holiday and we get battered
I'm glad Micah is back, I love him. And fingers crossed he can stay fit for a while.

I am also glad Micah is back - he gives us another option. I know he's injury prone but he's not a slacker (glances at Nasri). He's also very strong and has always been somebody I rate as dedicated MCFC. When RM and him had a little chat - he really upped his game
I could take half a day - not a bad idea actually - may just do that.

Re: The Derby.......................
Then you can take the other half on Tuesday to nurse the hangover after celebrating us stuffing them, or drown your sorrows. Fingers crossed it's the former.
I have no idea what is going to happen on Monday. I've got a feeling it's going to be all one way, someone is going to get stuffed and embarrassed. But who....I'm not sure!

Re: The Derby.......................
I'll probably take the other half on a Fri afternoon sometime. If we can just go there full of confidence and don't be hesitant like we have been earlier this season - then we can do it. However, I don't see that happening unfortunately. Think I'll just work on Monday - LOL.

Re: The Derby.......................
My Birthday Friday... hope it bloody warms up here in the UK!
We don't really get stuffed by UTD these days, it's usually a close call either way, apart from when we stuffed them 6-1 last season ( please, please, pretty please, can we have the same again?!!!!) I've a good feeling about this game, Utd have shown plenty of indifference of late, and with 15 points buffer, they won't really be going for it in the same way we will, saying that, they'll prob just sit back and play on the break unless we score first. Think they're there for the taking this time, if it's just pride at stake, then let's atleast give them a reminder of last season....

When was the last time (before Everton and Southampton) that we have been beaten by 2 clear goals in the league? We may get beat, but we shouldn't get hammered unless we lack pride.

Re: The Derby.......................
I'm just glad they can't win it outright if they beat us on Monday. That would have spurred them on for sure.
We've the beating of them every-time we play them and I think they know it. Van Pussy is having his lean spell and Shrek is injured, if we don't win it will be a poor showing.
I think it will be like our game at home last season, they will set up for a 0-0 and just sit back.

What's the betting that Shrek makes a remarkable recovery of biblical proportions and plays against us?

Oh, that's inevitable. In fact, his injury is one massive lie, designed to make us get our hopes up. I think we should go there and smash half a dozen past them again, just because.
And I'll be listening on the radio, because the dodgy streams are unreliable.

I agree leo, how bloody good would it be to smash another 6 past um, just wish it was that easy though .
Can't let um do the double over us.

Re: The Derby.......................
How many times, in our lifetimes, have we seen us score 5 or 6 past them?
It only happens once in a blue moon.

Twice so far!!! the classic 5-1 and the 6-1 mauling last season.
While I don't think it will happen again this time, if we get into our groove, show the same steely determination as we did this time last year, then I can see a good win for us, UTD have had a few poor games of late, form of key players for them are dipping, RVP's form has tailed off, and I expect our boys to marshall him and Shrek well on monday night.
A return to the ground with great recent memories for Sergio and Dzeko, and it might just click again.
We have more to lose than UTD in this game, they're sitting pretty on a fat lead, so subconsciously they won't be taking too many risks regardless of the fixture, look at the Chelsea game, woefully average for the right to play at Wembley!
We have everything to prove, and it's this backs to the wall scenario we've thrived in over the past few seasons, more often than not getting the result we need, I expect us to bloody UTDs nose, let them know we won't give up the title that easy.
3-1 City Aguero, Yaya, Vinny.

Re: The Derby.......................
Every time I have missed seeing the derby live we have won the both last seasons & the cup semi final. I saw the match this season at the Etihad and we lost. I am expecting a win as it is on at 02.45 am Tuesday morning Perth time, so no way will I watch it live. Also it appears to be birthday week what with bewar3 & moony mine is sunday.

I'd be more than happy to trade in any gifts for us to stuff UTD! and for them to go and lose 3 Prem games on the bounce...... I know, being greedy!

Re: The Derby.......................
Given the situation, winning the cup and stuffing Utd would make for a very good season, regardless of the bile that would come from them of winning 20

A win at the swamp and an FA cup triumph would take a lot of gloss off their 20th title win

Yeah, so much so that we'll get the usual proliferation of 20th title memes to ease their pain at missing out on a treble of trophies and a double over us. Honestly, they really are thick if they think that stuff bothers us. It's like they think we support City for glory and trophies or something. Have they not been paying attention?

Re: The Derby.......................
Any predictions for the game?
I won't be watching it as I don't have Sky, and the nearest pub is about a mile away and will be full of Larndarn Reds...., plus it's my sons bathtime at that time, will have to listen on the radio.... old school stylee!
Could be a good week for us if the boys perform up to expectations ( and I expect Zaba-esque performances throughout the team for both games!)

Re: The Derby.......................
The result is pretty irrelevant in terms of points, whether we win or lose, the title was over a long time ago. However, we need the strongest finish. Bobby especially needs the strongest finish. I think we will win. 3-1.
And I've got a strong feeling we will win the semi. Going for 2-0 in the semi.

If we aren't up for this one, then there's no hope for certain players and Mancini.
I expect us to put on a big, big performance and come away with a tight win - 3-2.

Re: The Derby.......................
We have been very competitive over the past few seasons, it's swung either way for the most part, apart from last season where we did the double in grand style.
We should be going for the jugular in this game.
