Did we have a good weekend?
Well now for the reality check.
Stoke will want revenge for their defeat (fair do's they helped make it a cracking final and the fans were great), and who would blame them.
Its now time to look at what else we can achieve thats now totally in our own hands. We have been looking, hoping for an Arsenal continued slump and it has continued but lets not forget they are still 2 points ahead of us. The Stoke game is important, tuesday is not party time but time to get behind the team and try to drive them on for 3 points.
Then its Bolton at the weekend who will want to go out with a high for their own fans.
The season isnt finished, not by a long way.

Re: Did we have a good weekend?
I was talking to a bloke on the train coming home on Saturday and he said-
"Tuesday night will be a bit of a damp squib now, I bet there will be a lot of empty seats"
I replied "Not if Villa beat Arsenal"
His retort "Fat chance of that"
I can't ever remember a season in the top flight with such crucial games in the last week unless it involved a relegation battle.

City have to go out and rub salt into Stokes wounds by getting at them from the off and battering them into submission.
This game's now become alot bigger than most of us expected a few games ago, that 3rd place is well and truely in our own hands.

Re: Did we have a good weekend?
WE shouldnt be playing this game, its unfair to Spurs, I mean stoke will just role over because they are now in Europe and it could stop spurs getting the CL qualification they so deserve .......

I can't believe nothings been said about the Wolves/Blackburn game on Sunday. If the scores are going their way then they could play out a 0-0 draw and both stay up.
Re: Did we have a good weekend?
TBF to Wolves its not Micks way to do that. I can think of a few other managers that might however come to some arrangement before the game. United/ Blackburn anyone?

Re: Did we have a good weekend?
I agree Lee, but if news filters through to the players that Wigan and Brum are losing then neither side are likely to go all out for a winner.

Are you really that bothered about the relegation issues Boris?

I love everyone and everything at the moment.

Fair enough mate .
I'd like the Wolfs to stay up (as i like MM), any of the others can follow the 'Ammers for me.

Re: Did we have a good weekend?
Same as that, I've nothing really against any of the teams in danger but I'd be happy if Blackpool and Wolves stayed up.
Re: Did we have a good weekend?
There remains a question unasked from wembley.
Why on earth was the dreadful Kolorov preferred to Zabaleta?
Of all the players brought in over the last year or so,he's the only one who's actually deteriorated, even mario lovegarden can be viewed in an optimistic light!!Man of the match was stretching the love in a bit far though as surely de Jong/yaya/VK were stronger candidates

Did you see the state of Zabs face? I don't think there was any way RM could have started him after that elbow he got off that dirty twat, Crouch.
Re: Did we have a good weekend?
De Jong was absolutely superb and my MOM by a long way, followed by Micah. Balotelli didn't do all that much imo, had a curling shot that the keeper tipped round the post and did a bit more running about than usual but i didn't see a right lot else.
Really hope Zabs back tomorrow, he's in my FF team .

Re: Did we have a good weekend?
I actually though Balo was more effective than Tevez yesterday, it was his running off the ball that impressed me making spaces and linking up with Silva and creating gaps for Carlos to run into. If the 3 of them play together more I can see that as a fairly standard starting line up with AJ and Dzecko coming on after 60 mins if the game needs changing.

Re: Did we have a good weekend?
Balotelli was very effective, great movement, focused on the team rather than himself and took some hefty punishment for the cause. When he got done by Wilkinson (?) in a shocking challenge, just after we scored, Mario got up and smiled at him. Mint.
De Jong was my MOM too, though Yaya ran him close.
