I think this could be a pivotal game, not impressed with this selection for an away fixture. I hope they prove me wrong, but I doubt they will. My normal optimism has deserted me at this moment.

And mine, we know at home we score for fun, simply does not happen away with a flat back 10.  So he picks the same players that haven't managed to break one down yet.

It is completely bewildering...would fucking love to watch their trainings sessions...as Kolorov and Dzeko MUST be the best trainers in the PL...for the amount of starts they get!

Our away form had been nothing short of shite this season...so what does MP do? Put 2 of the shittiest players in our squad into the starting 11 for an away game....bewildering!

Why the fuck he:

a) picks that useless c**t Dzeko is beyond me...I've watched him put in some awful performances in my time...but tonight...what a fucking useless waste of space.

b) Kolorov...for all of his going forward...he just makes stupid fucking mistakes in defence.....I mean, WTF was that all about for their first goal?

c) Garcia...I know he is shit, useless, can't track back for toffee...but MP put him on when we were totally in control of the game...and suddenly, it was all WBA...

d) Demechelis...I thought Lescott was slow, but jesus, he turns like the titanic!!

Tonight was a game we should have won 6/7-0...and down to him, we scraped a win...      

To be honest blueboy, I think almost the complete opposite!

I was wary when I saw the team sheet but we played narrower and controlled the game in the first half and could and should have had more goals.

In the second, yes it wasn't good to concede two at the end but at the same time, that own goal had nothing to so with any substitution and their other goal, I would have been more than happy if Aguero had turned and finished like that, it was a good goal.

The scoreline does not reflect the control we had in that game. In terms of his selection and the subs he made, he has to rotate the team a bit, we have a lot of games in December, we just cannot have Aguero and Negredo every game. He managed to give some key players a bit of a rest and get Kompany back after a long lay off and got the three points.

You're right, he is keeping the peace and if he can do that and get three points, then fair enough. It's better to do that than run our best players into the ground and suffer later on in the month. 

I agree about Dzeko, but as Jovetic is injured, there isn't really much he can do apart from play him. 

In terms of keeping all the players and not selling in January, lets just wait and see. Part of that might be CL related (in terms of anyone worth buying is probably cup tied), part of it might be keeping them sweet until then. 

I think you are underestimating West Brom a bit blueboy, they are a good team and moved the ball around well. Three points away at a team that will take points off the bigger boys, Kompany back and ok and a reminder to the team again that even at 3-0, we have to keep the pressing up til the final whistle. 

I see it as a good night, the result was far more important than anything else. Couple that with the United game and it has been a very good night!

If players in the squad can't play 45 mins full on for 2 games a week...WTF? Aguero and Negredo were brought off on Sunday early, to give them a rest.

If Dzeko was playing like either of them, I wouldn't bother posting...but to see such a shit performance once again from him...I just don't see how MP can keep such a waste of a CF position...he's awful. But yet, he keeps him on for 90 mins!! As for Garcia...less said the better...there was no need to allow Dzeko to have 90 mins...nor did he need to bring Garcia on. That's my point.

Surely he can't have been worse than his wonderful display against Plzen last week  .

He was awful. He pulled a ball back for Aguero to score....and that was pretty much it for 90 mins. Oh, apart from 5 or 6 times he looked like he was going to beat a player, only to lose the ball. Oh, and the countless headers he lost through not bothering to get his feet separated from the turf. Oh, and the numerous mis-controlling of the ball to lose possession....,

Hes ok on the left going forward but hes literally no idea how to defend,he doesnt close down,cant tackle and his positional sense is non existent.He may have provided an assist but more than cancelled out by being caught the wrong side of the wba player for their first goal

On a plus side,Fernandinho was excellent and is starting to really look the part filling De Jongs shoes

I have to agree that Dzeko shouldn't be relied upon anymore. We could never rely on Garcia or Kolarov. Reports that Clichy wasn't injured, but didn't make the subs bench???

If I had my way, Kolarov would be gone in January and we'd get Shaw or Baines. It's hard to replace Dzeko with a good enough performer, available for the CL who'd be happy to play second fiddle to Aguero and Negredo, yet would do the business if called upon.

Yep, Fernandinho was once again excellent. Still can't shoot though for a Brazilian!

What I cant fathom is we have been pretty shit on the road this season so why change the 11 that were so rampant against the Spuds & Swansea by bringing in useless fuckers like Dzeko & Kolarov

The traffic in West Bromwich was dreadful.  I'd made decent time until I was within a mile and a half and then everything came to a crawl.  Ended up parking a mile away from the ground and walking along a very dodgy unlit path along the tram line.

My thoughts on the game are pretty much along the lines of Blueys.  Seeing Kolarov and Dzeko starting was bad enough, but at least Kolarov provided an assist and won the penalty.  In fact, AlKo provided the assist for their first as well.  Second rule of defending:  Don't kick the ball across the face of your own goal.

Dzeko bailed out of so many chances and there was one in the second half, Serge had blasted clear of everyone and laid in an inch perfect ball for Dzeko to charge to goal with and he took, I reckon, 3 touches more than he needed to and ended up losing the ball.

Bringing Garcia on basically told us all we weren't going to see any more goals.  But removing Sammy and Yaya from the midfield killed us.  Fernandinho had to do the central midfield work all on his own, despite there being three DCMs on the pitch.

There were some good performances out there, mainly from Aguero, Fernandinho and Nasri, Milner and Zab worked hard, but it was painfully obvious, once we'd got that third goal on the board, everyone started thinking about Southampton.

Still, a win's a win, but even though Kolarov wasn't at his most dire, Pellers really does need to consider the need to choose any of the three amigos.

Yeah, it was a shocking journey, three hours plus for a journey which should take 90 minutes.  We set off at quarter past five, which was perhaps not a great idea, but we were five minutes from the ground for almost half an hour.  Got there at 8, just, but relieved they delayed the kick-off.

They really do need to light that path.
