United kit deal
Wtf? This, along with a season outside of the CL will put them right back into contention after this season.
£750m over 10 years with Adidas? Wow, double what Real get. Now that's a serious sponsorship deal.... dropping Nike, maybe we need to renegotiate as ours seems peanuts!!

Re: United kit deal
That's more than twice our Etihad deal and that includes the stadium, shirt sponsor and training facility. £75m a year just for a shirt deal is ridiculous. How can they be worth that? Oh, wait, let me guess: History.
If they qualify for the CL next season, this should be investigated.

Re: United kit deal
It won't be. Adidas wanted this deal real bad. So bad that they offered more than Nike thought it was worth. Let's hope United fail to get CL footy next year and Adidas get their moneys worth.

Re: United kit deal
Don't forget they also have a new shirt sponsor for next season for £52m a year with Chevrolet.
Our deal is indeed peanuts.
FFP my arse .......

Re: United kit deal
The really funny part is, Chevrolet are pulling out of Europe altogether in 2016. This means, in a couple of years from now, the sponsor is going to be completely irrelevant to the European viewers.
Let's hope their relevance in Europe is mirrored by the club they're sponsoring

Re: United kit deal
Adidas claim it will make them £1.5b over the 10 year contract.
£75m profit per year for one client...
Our Nike one needs looking at and renegotiating.

Re: United kit deal
But it's us mugs that are going to make them the 1.5b
Real Madrid already charge 90 Euro's for their home shirt, it is widely expected the first Rag Addidas shirt will match this. These companies are certainly not stupid.
Then again it's why I've not bought a shirt since the Thomas Cook days and only then because it was the end of the season and it was a tenner (white/purple one).

Re: United kit deal
I've not bought a shirt for myself since I was 18! Not one for wearing them, however, I have bought my two lads a shirt every season for the past 14 years!! Not cheap.

Re: United kit deal
I've noticed our merchandise seems to have got a lot more expensive over the last 18-24 months. Whilst it was mainly for local fans, they couldn't really take the piss. Now we have gone 'global' fans will pay whatever to get their hands on stuff so the local fan doesn't matter as much.
Sad, but reality.

Re: United kit deal
I have bought quite a few shirts in the last 10-15 years but I think I'll start wearing the older ones rather than fork out for the new ones which aren't as good.
