Uefa rewrites rules for City
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/uefa-rewrites-rules-to-allow-city-to-dodge-ffp-sanctions-9725033.html
I'm still in a state of shock at this news, i expected them to up our quota, not reduce it.....i need to sit down.

Re: Uefa rewrites rules for City
That's old news Den. After the fine was imposed upon us, the soccer union, fifpro(?) spoke with UEFA and the lower limit was put forwards. Too much restriction upon the club could have pushed us towards legal action (imagine just having 13 foreign players!) and could have pushed players towards legal action.

Must admit I thought this was a non-story too.
When this was agreed, there seemed acceptance in the press that it was a reasonable compromise, now somebody is trying to make out they've uncovered a scandal! What a load of crap when he says that nobody was available for comment, intimating that people are scared to talk about it. There were plenty of quotes from all parties at the time of the agreement.
Lazy journalism, once again, and suspiciously it's come just before an important few games for us.

Agree...trawled out and re-written right before our game with Arsenal and on the back of David Dein saying yesterday, that our punishment was just.
You have to laugh at the bit where it says..."LFC owner John Henry won't be pleased as he bought the club on the back of FFP being introduced"
John Henry needs to stop making £35m losses every season... then maybe he can have his say on the matter.

LFC would have failed FFP, most likely, last year if they had been investigated. By some UEFA quirk, they were not and the money the get from this year's CL and increased PL tv money will see them balance their books for UEFA. Bollocks. Utter bollocks.

And the rags quietly drop out of Europe for a single season, so they can blow millions on replacing their old squad and use the same loophole that the dippers are enjoying to ensure they don't get a slap either.
FFP is a joke...

This is what i don't understand.
If there are so many flaws and loopholes with the FFP, then why hasn't it been contested by clubs and their lawyers.

Can only assume that each club is waiting for the other to challenge it, or a 3rd party like the Belgium lawyer....because if they kicked up a fuss and lost, there could be further sanctions.

I'm waiting to see how much their wage bill goes up this season. They've got rid of a few but they've replaced them with some massive earners. I can't remember the rules about how much you can increase wages by year on year (CL or PL rules)
