correct...the answer I had was 25....8 corner encroachment lines....but they are semi-circular. Were they ever at right angles? I'm racking my brains now, but can't ever remember them being.

Not the corner spot quarter circles, the lines 10 yards away crossing the goal-line, adds an extra 4 lines.
Newcastle number 7 -Gillespie?
Premier league scorer - Milner?

So are you saying the were made as boxes, as opposed to a line at an angle (as that'd be 4 extra lines).blueboy wrote:I know that Shaken, I mark out our home pitches every week....but were they EVER at right angles that would make an extra 8 lines?

No, it'd make 8 straight lines. 2 straight lines per corner flag at right angles. Not sure they ever were though.
However, technically, there should be 23......how?

Re: Quick Quiz - COMPLETE
17 plus 6 extra straight lines behind the net making out where netting should be set i pressume.....corner flag area would then be arched

Re: Quick Quiz - COMPLETE
Nope......the technical area should be added as per the FA's guidance for marking pitches.
3 straight lines each for the two technical areas.

Re: Quick Quiz - COMPLETE
There is a small white line marking the 10 yards from the corner flag. Opposition players are not allowed within 10 yards of the corner flag at corners.

"How many straight lines are needed to mark-out a regulation football pitch?"
The FA's guidance may state that the technical areas must be marked out but technically speaking these areas are not part of a "regulation football pitch". Surely a "football pitch" is the area on which football is played?
Like i said, trick question
But i see you have now given the answer as 17 lol
