Not particularly.

Did I see a purpose to it, well yes I think I did.

Mancini has been saying how stretched he is for players with a few big games coming up (I think they all are considering our position and what we want to achieve) and I think he chose the last 20 minutes to experiment.

I think the team that was on for the last 15 to 20 minutes is the starting line up for Kiev. We nearly came a cropper in injury time because of a defensive mix up but I think that Mancini is trying to save legs and plan ahead.

I didnt enjoy it but I cant fault his logic if it comes off, especially given the squeeky bum time of relegation battles only 4 seasons ago.

Still, Utd and the rest at the top have a habit of grinding out results when they play shit. Hopefully we have now aquired that habit.

Too nervy for me at the moment. I'm ticking off each game as if it's a trial we've come through rather than looking upon it as an entertaing afternoons football. Get the next 4 games over and the fixtures start to thin out a little, if we win all 4 then we've got a very serious chance of silverware and a top 4 finish this season and I don't care if they're all 1-0 wins with stuffy goals.

The difference in performance from first half to second was that we passed the ball and moved quickly in the first half and got behind them quite easily but were pedestrian again like fulham last week in the second half. In many ways I think Mancini gets away with too much credit for the position we are in as plan B seems alien to him at times.We simply got away with a very poor performance today which if repeated again next week could see us out of both cups, which I don't think he'd survive so let's hope it was a blip

To be fair, if it wasn't for over elaboration, we should have been 2 or 3 up at half time. Saying that, too many under performed today and we won't get away with it every week if we don't improve. Got to admit though, apart from their diving, Wigan play pretty good football.

Haha, it was fucking freezing - I can't remember the last time I was warm at a home match.
