Would we allow 3 players to leave all at once (Milner making 4)?

I personally think we have to make large changes to the squad in the close season, but we have to bring in quality replacements though.....and straight away, not a week before the season starts.

3 or 4? I'd get rid of 7 or 8 at the end of the season and start all over again building a younger, better team around Silva and Aguero.

For me, the following don't deserve their salary or to wear our shirt:

Bale has his problems in Madrid, but he'd probably cost us near £100M.

Let's say you get rid of the players that have a value and will leave:

Kolarov - £10M
Willy - £4M
Jovetic - £18M
Dzeko - £25M
Navas - £12M
Yaya - £15M

That's about £85M. I'm not including Sagna because he won't go and no-one will pay him £100k per week.

I'm guessing this summer that we'd have a budget of about £100M to spend on top of this (especially if the new Etihad deal comes through and we make the CL).

That makes it about £185M. I know we have amortisation etc. but let's keep it simple.

I'd rather get Isco and Pogba for the Bale money. I'd love to get all 3 but that would be our budget gone right there and we'd have to stock up with kids and maybe a couple of cheapos or freebies. Maybe Ings and a kid as the other two strikers (knowing Bale can play there if needed).

Actually, I'd let one of Fernando and Fernandinho go too, but maybe that would be too many players.

We'd probably have to stick with our creaky defence, but we'd have an attacking 5 of Bale, Pogba, Isco, Silva and Aguero with Nasri, Bony and the kids as back up.

Thing is, I just can't see Real letting Bale and Isco going. I think Isco would be wanted more than Bale at Madrid.

I can't see Bale costing £100m....his stock hasn't risen since he moved there, so I think he'll be sold in summer, not sure who to, but for nearer the £80m mark.

The problem we have is that it's no good us having 4 or 5 world class players in attack, if we don't have the balance, energy and defensive qualities to go with it.

Mangala needs another season with Kompany. Zaba is a shoe in, so a top class LB for me would make us stronger at the back.

If we keep Fernandinho or get Pogba as our ONE CMF player, then that leaves 4 further players out of:

Silva
Nasri
Aguero
Bony

plus if we can add an extra 3 or 4 top class players for the £180m you mentioned:

Bale - £80m
Coentrao - £30m
Pogba - £60m

Add 3 or 4 academy players, means we have a much better balance, but added top class players.

We do need an injection of youth into the team, not just the squad. Especially players that haven't made it yet like Spurs have done with Kane, Mason and others. We need their energy, drive and determination to succeed rather than lazy layabouts expecting others to do the work.

We do need either a top quality LB or CB (both preferrably).

Lb, left wing and cm are the three positions is focus on. Maybe a striker too.

I don't think Sagna has done too badly, he's been better than Zaba the last couple of months. The rest it is hard to make a case for.

Read an interesting stat at the weekend, only Burnley have covered more ground than us this season. It's not just effort, it is a lack of intelligence and quality.

Don't think a CB will be a priority Dawg, as we've splashed out £32m on Mangala and given Demichellis a new 1yr extension.

Completely agree about getting some Youth into the team....but not just for the sake of it, they have to be good enough.

Anyway, if we get Rekik and Denayar back, we will have enought bodies fighting for those two CB spots.

Denayer has had a season in the spl plus European experience in champs & Europa league this season with rave reviews. We also have rekik surely these players can fill the void instead of having to buy another centre back.

It's time to invest in our current youth, whilst at the same time, get in 3 top class, and I mean top class proven players...and if that costs us £150m, then so be it.

As it stands, we have far too many players just going through the motions - and the biggest culprit is that lazy twat in MF, or wherever he ends up...mostly on his knees.

Looking at his player zone stats, he spent 68% of the game against Burnley in our own half - yet only made 4 tackles.......that for me sums him up. FINISHED AT CITY....a year too late if you ask me.

Would you trust the current manager and DoF to get things right with signings and tactics for next year?

And if we don't get CL, these players won't come to us and we are fooked.

That's a frightening thought....and sadly a very real possibility at the moment

I think the biggest problem is this:

- when will they sack MP?

- when will the new manager be appointed?

- are the board tapping up whoever may replace him and the players they want?

The problem will be getting the right man in if MP gets the boot, but it's no good doing that in May, and then appointing a new Manager on July - then trying to get players in.

I've got a feeling we'll finish top 4, get knocked out on Weds, but they will stick with the Manager until his contract runs out and see what happens next season - which means the signings this summer will have to be something special compared to the crap we've signed for the past 3 years.

Personally - I'd have Viera in situ come the end of May...give him the whole summer to work with the players and board - talk about signings and he'll know exactly, what youth players can be added, brought back from loans etc.

Ancellotti is now 4-9 fav at the bookies to be the next manager. Someone knows something for the odds to be that short

4-9?! That's nailed on then.

I'm happy with that.  He got a raw deal at Chelsea and has done ok at Real.  The best of those available and has experience of the prem so isn't a gamble like a Klop or a Simeone.

Just have to hope MP can limp us through to Top 4 because it really worries me at the moment.
