Barcelona vs City - Live Thread
Ok, the countdown has started....less than 3 hours to KO.
What will the 'stubborn one' do tonight? 4-5-1? 4-3-2-1? .....nah, 4-4-2.
If so, then for me, the team should be this:
.........................................Hart...........................................
Zaba..................Vinny...................Mangala..................Kolorov
Navas...................TLMLF.........Fernandinho....................Milner..
............................Silva........................................................
......................................................Aguero............................

Re: Barcelona vs City - Live Thread
The only saving grace is that he's not gone 4-4-2.
I'd personally have had Navas in for Nasri.....not sure how much tracking back both Nasri and Silva will do.
At least Millies playing.

Fuck this, I'm sick of hearing these 'experts' knocking one out over how wonderful Barcelona are.
Why don't we just say "here's the game, we won't embarrass you by stepping on the same pitch as you"
Come on City, I still believe.

It's a Sky and TalkShite Barcelona wankfest today.
All I need now is to hear Danny 'I'm still loved by the City fans' Mills and I will lose it!

Shocking defending. I think we had 7 defenders to 4 attackers.

Get Yaya off - he's ding fuck all for us. And put some fucking crosses in when you get the chance instead of passing it backwards and ending up losing the ball.

How did we lose dejong!!!! Why did we lose him! Over pennies... and spent 200m on crap instead!
He would have sorted then out without tackling like an idiot from behind!

NDJ managed to break up play and if he fouled, he did it in such a manner that he avoided bookings.

We could get beaten 5 or 6 if Barca wanted. That'd be the end of MP.
But we could just as easily score and put the willies up them.

Re: Barcelona vs City - Live Thread
GET THAT LAZY FUCKER OFF THE PITCH NOW!!!!
Four times when they have attacked us.....he's been marking grass in the middle of our half.
At one point, Iniesta ran past him to the edge of the box.....he was stood still 15 yrds outside the box. The play broke down and Iniesta sprinted back past the lazy fucker and was 10yrds past him...and he'd not moved a fucking muscle in that time!
You can see DeM and Kompany constantly having to attempt to engage Iniseta or another MF player, because he can't be arsed.
Lazy, lazy twat.
Agree...Nasri is not helping Sagna whatsoever...and gets a stupid yellow card.
Navas on for Nasri, Lampard on for the TWAT!

Push on them and attack, stop standing off and giving them time on the ball.
Hope Navas gives us an outlet and attacks the fullback.

Not humiliated and some positives really, Joe was immense, YaYa didn't turn up again, and shame about pen, would have made it interesting. But no disgrace

Re: Barcelona vs City - Live Thread
Hart.....wtf? How good was he for us tonight to stop it being an embarrassment?
To be fair, even though Aguero looks half the player he was earlier in the season, if it wasn't for Joe Hart, we'd have been battered 6-0 there.
1-0 was nothing short of an injustice on Barca.
We were wank. The passing, finishing, crossing and set pieces were awful.
I'm just thankful for Joe tonight that we weren't put to the inevitable sword.
Still think the Managers a wanker even though he didn't play 4-4-2.
The very fact that the laziest twat I've ever seen in a football shirt was allowed 70 mins is beyond me.
I NEVER want to see him don the City shirt again. WANTED HIM GONE LAST SUMMER.....and tonight proved why I was right 8 months ago.

I must apologise to the lazy twat, I thought he'd had a shit night, but he proved me wrong - he managed to hit a ball between two cars! That's what he does best.

no disgrace,
nasri off at half time good decision
yaya eventually off when he finally sprung to life?
Hart good...
1st half though Messi ran it far too easily

Sorry, totally disagree. We were awful 1-0 does not, in any way, reflect the game. Hart made 5 world class saves, plus 4 or 5 other top saves....their keeper on the other hand watched 2 or 3 shots trickle into his hands or hit the side netting. That's shit.
Forget the penalty, apart from that...we were just reacting to what Barca did wrong, rather than taking the game to them.
Terrible performance if you ask me. Don't let the score deflect from the performance.
Crap, crap, crap....apart from Joe.

Blue you have to remember who we were playing. It was 10 fold better than the home leg. We have it ago but they really are that much better than us.

OK... fair point.
So, I'll ask you this BB. Joe Hart made at least 8 top saves tonight, some of them world class.
Let's imagine Joe was at a level of say........the lazy twat who always gets picked (as he's supposed to be world class, but is nothing short of an old player who plays well against shit teams, but never the BIG teams), and had the same level of performance as 7 or 8 of those City players out there tonight....and we conceded 4 goals out of the 10-12 good chances they had. So lets be conservative and say we got beat 4-0 tonight.....would you honestly still say we did well tonight?
Their keeper saved one, shit penalty. But other than that, he hardly had to pull his finger out.
Joe made numerous world class saves, stops.......on another 'average' day, he doesn't save 3 or 4 of them.
So we should have been talking about a 4/5 nil loss here tonight regardless of what we did......would you have been equally as happy with that score line, as that is what it should have been in reality....5-1?

Re: Barcelona vs City - Live Thread
They must have hit the post 2 or 3 times and had a few 1v1s. Chuck in some worldie saves from Hart and 4-0 would have been kind to us.
We can't cross full stop. Navas and Kolarov were shite. We don't get too many chances and we can't afford to blow them away. Navas with two crosses (Aguero unmarked in the middle and crosses it to the keeper and another one behind Jimmy who is stood alone about 10 yards out) and Kolarov with numerous crosses were woeful. And we didn't put enough crosses in even though we don't have big men n the box. You just need a lucky break sometimes and we didn't even look for one. Too many times when we were out wide, we decided to pass it back wards and lose the chance of an early cross.
How many of this lot would you really want next season?
