6 mins 38 seconds.....
then the game stopped......and never commenced. Unbelievable, I really hope our Chairman sues the Co that re-laid the pitch last close season.....especially considering it cost him just shy of 200k.
I have to say the right decision was made, but what a joke of a club we've been made to look today .

Then they offer 50% off the re-scheduled match. How about refunds for the debacle yesterday?

You having a laugh? You mean they aren't refunding everyone - or giving free access to the rescheduled match?
That's absolutely disgraceful if not...

They'll say it's not their fault. They should, at least, allow free entry to the buggers that had to fork out in the first place.

Re: 6 mins 38 seconds.....
I think the whole episode yesterday sent the club into a bit of panic, but it's all been sorted now.
Non seasonticket holders and away fans who went to the game had to get a voucher (after the game) for the re-arranged game. This enables them all entry for said re-arranged game.....free of charge.
All seasonticket holders (like me) have to show a designated voucher which we have at the back of our seasonticket, to gain free entry.

I wonder where this stands in quickness of games started and called off?
My brother actually said before kick off, looking at the corner of the pitch nearest us "if this rain continues, it gonna get called off"....I just laughed at him. How wrong was i (said corner bottom left)

The article days everyone will get free entry (so I guess they've updated it since), but that still doesn't account for the expense the Southend fans incurred.
Remember when matches used to carry on regardless? Like when we played Burnley a few years ago

Re: 6 mins 38 seconds.....
I went to that game leo...and I have to admit at half time as the rain fell, I did think it might get called off....which would have been annoying, as from recollection it was 5-0 to City.
The difference this time round is that Burys drainage system (that was newly installed close season) has failed and the surface water wouldn't drain away.
I have to admit, I felt for the Southend fans....it's a long way to come for 6 minutes of football.
