If we don't make CL this season, I can't see any big stars beating our door down to join us in the summer. Utd. were different as they have more history and they threw huge sums of money at the problem.

With so many options available to them, I can't see the likes of Bale or Pogba, or any major star, wanting to join us even for big bucks. We should still be able to attract the likes of Sterling, KdB and Barkley but no Cl could be a major stumbling block.

Oh, Martin Samuel, you card!  Same budget as Everton?  On what planet?  If we miss out on Europe, we can delve into the Sheikh's trillions, whereas Everton are scratching down the back of the sofa.
