Jeremy Cross.....
This is one journalist I cannot stand. His articles are always strewn with nothing more than bullshit assumptions and angles, that make the reader get pissed off with Man City (a team he doesn't like).
MANCHESTER CITY'S South American stars could be forced to play on until mid-July after being told they will not be given a rest.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that none of his Argentines or Brazilians will be allowed to miss the club's post-season trip to North America.
It means the likes of Sergio Aguero, Martin Demichelis, Fernandinho and Pablo Zabaleta will not be given a breather before they take part in the Copa America and risk being worn out ahead of next season.
And where exactly does it say that all the above WILL be actually playing any football?
The champions will play friendlies in Canada and the United States during a six-day tour following their final Premier League outing against Southampton on May 24.
But despite the Copa America kicking off in Chile on June 11, Pellegrini insists they will not be allowed to miss their club's end-of-season trip.
He said: "The complete squad will travel. They have to rest, but it will be after they finish the post-season tour."
With FIFA regulations allowing competing countries to call-up their stars on May 29, it means City's South American contingent face having to fly directly from the US to link-up with their national squads.
What, as opposed to flying from Manchester? North America to South America is a much quicker journey than a holiday in Dubai and then to Chile FFS!
Arsenal and Aston Villa are both set to be granted special dispensation by FIFA to enable their South American players, including Alexis Sanchez, to travel to Chile following the FA Cup final on May 30.
Oh, well done Arsenal....your players will be training and playing right up to the 30th May then?
But with Argentina and Brazil both expected to reach the latter stages of the Copa America, some of Pellegrini's men could be left with just five weeks to recover from this season and prepare for the new one on August 8.
City had a week in Abu Dhabi in January and will also travel to Australia and the Far East in July for their summer tour.
So, they had a weeks rest in Abu Dhabi....and none of the players you mentioned at the beginning, will be going on the tour of Australia and the Far East you bellend!!
Pellegrini, meanwhile, has backed £25m flop Wilfried Bony to come good following a woeful start to life at the Etihad.
Bony, who signed from Swansea in January, has started just two games and scored once before suffering an ankle problem.
The Ivorian striker will return to the squad for today's visit of Aston Villa and Pellegrini said: "He was very unlucky in the way he had his last injury.
"It was a hole in the pitch and he had some trouble with his ankle and knee.
"But of course it's disappointing. We bought him because we had the injuries to the strikers, but I'm sure he's a very good player and will demonstrate why he's here.
"We have five more games, 15 points to win, and I'm sure Bony will be involved in them and then we'll start thinking about next season."
He's a real prick...and he actually gets paid for writing such tosh...
