Pogba odds on for City
Some bookies are going 2 to 1 on Pogba joining City this summer. Those are pretty skinny odds.
Big bookies tend to get things right but I think they just manipulate the market and let lemmings jump on board to lose their money.
Some bookies even have Klopp as low as 5/1 to become the next Leicester City manager...

Just can't see it now myself, however hopeful I once was. Barca have got it sown up I think, and the fact Juve keep him for at least part of the season (probably all as he will be CL cup tied) is a big plus for them.
That low price is a con with the bookies. They will just cream off cash with that.

What's Turan going to do until January? Sit in the stands? At 29?

2:1 odds for Pogba is just a win-win for the bookies.

Re: Pogba odds on for City
Why sign Turan and Pogba? Doesn't make sense...both similar type of players.
So lets say they get Poga as well....who misses out? One of them is going to sit on the bench as they won't play both.
If so, who gets dropped? Iniesta??? Busquets???? Messi????, Neymar????.....they can't squeeze both of them into the team at one time unless they drop the 3 in attack.
Like I said, it doesn't make sense to sign Pogba now they've got Turan as Iniesta is still better than both of them and can still go on for another 2/3 years at the top.

Probably not happening, this. Lots of articles today suggesting we've cooled our interest in the face of some crazy money demands:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/11725141/Paul-Pogba-too-expansive-for-Manchester-City.html
(Notice - "too expansive" in the URL!!)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3152755/Manchester-City-ready-Paul-Pogba-transfer-Juventus-demand-71m-midfielder.html
I'd say £71m and £250k per week is just out and out ridiculous money for a 22 year old. We should walk away now.

Re: Pogba odds on for City
Well we are looking at paying £50m for Stirling and probably £160k pw.
I guess we moan about not getting signings - well if we want the best, we will pay over the odds for these players, and if money isn't an issue over a 5 years contract, what's the issue?
Are they worth it? Of course not. Are we personally paying for it? No.
I'm really not bothered what we pay to be honest....we all know the wages and fees are ALL stupid these days - I just don't want 2nd rate players again because we wouldn't pay £10-20m over the odds. In 3/4 years time we could have 2 players worth in the region of a combined £200m....and we pay have 2 more PL's and a CL in the bag.
Pay, pay £50m if it means getting Stirling, pay £80m if it means getting Pogba.....I don't care.

Re: Pogba odds on for City
i'm with you on this one blue. a 5 yr contract means both pogba & sterling would be 26 & 27 respectively when their contracts are up so they would / should still be worth a big transfer fee should we cash in. As you say & I said on another thread that football is on a totally different planet financially than we are. We are npot spending our money so lets get the best & be the best, that's what the scum from Trafford were doing throughout the 90's & noughties.

Re: Pogba odds on for City
Absolutely. Look at Ferdinand neat 15 years ago! In today's market that would be a £100m transfer. He made them one of the best defences in the world and went on to be one of the best defenders.
Like I said, we all moan about not signing players, me included, but worry about a transfer fee. Like you said, we can't be worrying about the fee if we want the best. Look at Ronaldo. At the time we all were that Madrid would pay that...but they would easily get their money back even now.
