Look, we had to replace Lampard or Milner, or both with English players. We'll probably pay LFC £50m and be done with it over the weekend, which leaves one other....and that's Delph.

Pogba coming looks a no-goer. De Bruyne is 50-50, so they have to be looking at other players - we just don't know who.

And as we've said b4 for 8 million it's a no brainer 
He's an England international young enough & IMO no worse than Henderson who seems to get heaps of praise
If he turns out to be shit we can sell him on and maybe even make a profit for once It makes a nice change on our usual spending 20-40 million on shite like Mangala Fernando Dzeko Jovetic etc etc ...

He played really well for Villa last season....got his chance in the England set-up and played really well. We NEED English players to replace Milner and Lampard.

I just don't see what the issue is. Some on here are moaning about us paying £35-45m for Stirling. We all know we need the English contingent to satisfy the PL. We could have gone and bought someone like Ings for £10m....who would never play. We haven't, we're buying a player that plays on the left of MF and can cover at LB. He's broke into the England team and played well, unlike someone like Ings or Austin (who wouldn't play either). He's young and has got to be better than Fernando and Fernandinho on their form last year....and all for £8m.

Yes a steal at that price... bit odd though - not like us to "steal" players.  As somebody else said - he's only had one good season - but we'll see - hope he's better than the other "steals" that we've now sold for a loss.

Every time I have seen him play which is not a lot granted  but then I don't watch villa too much, but he is always booked late in tackles likes to leave a foot in & a very ordinary player. TBF Oz, I think he would have been a good signing for £8m. His energy is impressive, he's good on the ball and is far more athletic than Fernando...but then I guess it doesn't matter now.

The Birmingham Mail has reported that Delph was was '100% on the way to Manchester City this time yesterday' but that he had a complete change of heart.

Sinclair and Mica must have told him he wouldn't play as many games as he probably wanted. All a bit odd though but he was a HG number to us first and a player second. Very lacking in ambition though if staying for another relegation fight.
