How can we not be drawn against Zenit?
It came to us between Barca and Juve...why not Zenit? Valencia were put in Zenit's pot before us and that was the only pot....why not Juve for them?

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
Because Chelsea and Arsenal were already drawn in the bottom half, we could only have the top half.blueboy wrote:How can we not be drawn against Zenit?

Free tickets for me, my wife and younger lad!
My oldest, please don't ask, used to love Reyes. He said, IF we get drawn against Sevilla, I'll personally buy us all tickets!

Oh, thank god the rags got Wolfsburg! We've got Borussia Moenchen... Munchen... glad... back... Yeah, them.
Not a bad group, not too tough, but no easy games there.

So who's going through in each group then? I can't see any surprises really, outside of group B where I reckon CSKA will batter the rags.

City has the toughest group out of all the English clubs as per usual
Having said that I reckon all 4 English teams will get through We need to top our group to avoid BM Barca or RM in the next round

But won't the rags be away for their game before the Derby?
Shame I'm out of the country on that day. I really should duck out of the cup schemes.

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
I spent the evening in a Rome hotel watching Juve v Ajax in the final, after flying the Ajax fans out there from Schiphol for the final. Spent the afternoon with the Ajax fans in the Trevi Fountain. Brilliant fans.
After Juve won, walking up the steps of the aircraft, with Ajax fans in big red hats, all sat there looking glum on the way home, I looked next to us to see Luca Vialli lifting the cup up at our aircraft and the Ajax fans...goading them.
Never liked Juventus from that moment on.
Anyway, off topic. Sorry, never been to Turin, but heard it's nice, but full of Juve fans!

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
Really can't understand why the media are calling it a 'tough draw' for us.
Sevilla - really?
Juventus? - sold most of their best players.
B. Munchers who are glad to be back? - piss easy.
I can see us winning most of these games and topping the group.
Right, who do you want in the semi-final?

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
People saying United handed a smooth draw? Really?
PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg
Sorry, but I think United will struggle against CSKA and Wolfsburg. They may scrape a win at home to PSV.

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
I don't think the rags have got an easy group at all. CSKA will absolutely batter them, PSV should ease past them comfortably and Wolfsburg aren't an easy customer at all.
I'd rather have our group than theirs.

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
Juve may have lost a few if their best players, but they should still be very decent. Sevilla know how to win in Europe and you can't discount any German team. But we'll beat them all, home and away, keeping clean sheets and scoring tons of goals.

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
Juve & Sevilla away will be very difficult ties
If MP doesn't do his usual gung ho tactics in Europe & we can get at least 2 draws from these games we should top the group

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
We thought Bayern away would be difficult, too, but we've beaten them at the Allianz.
I'm under no illusions that this is an easy group, but it's no group of death. There's some tasty fixtures in there and if we set down the right marker, we should be able to do well.
Frankly, I think the rags will have a harder time with CSKA and Wolfsburg.

Re: OFFICIAL CL DRAW
I'm looking forward to them finishing bottom of their group. It's all well and good them thrashing Club Brugge, but let's be honest, Bolton Wanderers would give them a run for their money. CSKA are no walkover and Wolfsburg will be more difficult than they think. PSV, I'd say, are the very least of their worries.
