Isco unhappy? Empty Isco unhappy?

Post by Topdawg Tue Nov 24, 2015 9:24 am

Reading reports he's unhappy that he didn't start when an unfit Rodriguez started instead.

He's still worth it at around £30M and that's pretty good value seeing what we had to pay for Sterling and Kevin.

Tbh, after the loss at the weekend i don't really know where the priority replacements are needed.

Personally, i'd much rather pay double that and go after Bale...but we won't. I don't really know if Isco can change a game when we're on the back foot.

How much money can City spend in January Dawg?

No idea what City can spend Den. I thought we could spend up to £250M in the summer and we spent about £150M.

If transfer market can be relied on, then we had a net spend of around £100M so we've still got tons of money available.

Next summer, the new sky deal is coming into play and we'll have an easy £300M+ to spend.

If it was the summer, I'd go all out for Stones, Bale/Messi, Isco and a quality LB.

But why do we need to keep spending big?

Re Stones:
Thing is, we have just spent big on Mangala, so can't see him leaving...and he'll partner Vinny when fit. Otamendi is arguably better though, so will push Mangala for the 2nd CB position. We also have DeMichellis as 4th choice, so something will have to give to give if we were to bid for Stones.
Personally, i'd get rid of Mangala if we're serious about Stones, he's the only one that we'd be able to recoup any money for.

Re Bale:
I said last season we should go all out for him and i'd re-itterate that for next season....he's a match winner and ten times better than Sterling. Obviously the sticking point would be whether he'd leave Real, but imo we should certainly make enquiries.

Re Messi:
He hasn't got the bottle to leave Barca and try something different. If Serge can't convince him to come to City, then he ain't going anywhere.

Re Isco:
Tbh, i'm not convinced, but if we could get him for £20-25m then why not...could be worth a punt.

Re LB,
Definately a priority, but MP doesn't seem to think it is, as he hasn't make any effort to sign one over the last 18mths.

Those names were for the summer. It's tough to buy in January unless we're after someone whose club didn't get through the CL group stage.

Don't worry about the numbers since we've got plenty of money.

Dimi will leave at the end of the season. I'd let Mango go as well and put everything on getting Stones and maybe even get Rekik or Denayer back if they do well this season as 4th choice CB but why would they want to come back to us?

We need a replacement for Yaya s he's just not doing that dual DM/AM job.

Or, we can get a decent manager, spend fuck all and get these players playing properly???

We've got the best squad in the PL...yes, we've had injuries, but we've got 2 players for every position for this reason.

The simple fact is, we are far too inconsistent.

We either play really well, or really shit...and that's not acceptable after all that's been spent.

I didn't watch the game against LFC, just saw brief highlights, but Mangalas own goal was just one of those things that most top defenders have done.

What worries me more was how Sagna got dispossessed so easily, how Kolorov was marking space and DeM looked ponderous and marking nobody.

Prior to this game, Mangala had been solid every time he played...Sagna has had a decent season, but he's no Zaba.

What worries me more is the way the Manager can't get 2/3 games out of the squad, playing aggressive attacking football like we did against Sevilla away. It's too inconsistent.

Call me crazy but if Vinny cannot sort out his injuries and get proper fit then i'd rather let him go and keep Mangala. Vinny is just not playing enough games this season and there is no consistency or understanding in the defence when we are constantly playing different CB pairings. Whats wrong with Clichy anyway surely he can't still be injured? He's way better then Kolarov.

Yes, we were very good attacking against Sevilla. No-one seems to mention, or has forgotten, how dodgy we were at the back and some of their really good chances. A more clinical team maybe would have got back into that game and beaten us.

If we score first, we can hammer teams that come on to us.

It's a fair point. Had Sevilla had anyone who could shoot straight, that would've been a very different match. Okay, we're through to the last 16, but I don't see us going any further unless we can keep our noses ahead of Juventus.

I don't doubt the players we have our good enough. We should really be several points ahead of the pack by now. We've paid top whack for good players, but that sort of money should have got us even better players.

I'd like a front three like Barca...

Agree...

We paid 50m for Sterling... I would put 75m for Isco as Nasri replacement and backup for Isco and go all out 100m for Pogba to replace TLMF.

Hell... not my money!
