Re: City agree to £39m for Laporte
Thirty nine million quid for a player with a broken ankle? Bilbao must be laughing all the way to the bank there! What next, £45m for a promising midfielder with knackered hamstrings? £60m for a striker with boss eyes? £90m for a keeper with no arms??
Jeez... We seem to be a pension plan for crocks.

Pep wanted him, so we have to trust his judgement.
Even with a broken leg n ankle, i'd still have him in before Mangala, Otamendi and Demichellis

I seriously don't mind it if we have 6 CBs next season. Let them fight it out.
Laporte, Stones, Kompany, Mango, Otamendi, Denayer.

Or, we could pay in the region of £50m for Stones - who can't get in the Everton team due to his form.
It's all daft money - regardless of what it costs, we should forget about the price tag and concentrate on what they can offer - £10m for a player, is no less ridiculous as £40m. It's all bonkers.

people (like us) are paying stupid money for potential and ignoring very good players for a fraction of the cost.

they are always a fraction of the cost until City show interest. Amazing how the price suddenly increases.

That's his buyout clause and far cheaper than Stones would cost.

So 13m more than the whole Leicester team .....
BBC News telling me journeyman are the answer
I wonder how many of the 20 million paid out on the Leicester win gets put back on for the first Champions to be relegated next season ....... Just Saying, could happen

We could go down the 'Leicester' route recruiting players that had been let go....but lets see how Morgan, Huth etc do next season. That's taking nothing away from what they and LEICESTER have achieved this season - but it'll be interesting to see how Mahrez, Vardy, Kante, Huth, Morgan, Drinkwater et al, do next season as they are now all in the £15-35m bracket, CL football, expectations etc....it's OK doing it as a one-off (and I'm not claiming this is)...but we'll know more by Dec 2016 as to what their worth is.

Re: City agree to £39m for Laporte
That was my point earlier Mahrez was 400,000 but I guarantee if city had been in for him it would have been 2-3 Million. Also how would our team look to fans, Media even the owners if we go for bargain basement given our status now, Ok if they work out but how many would have patience. After all Mahrez & Vardy hardly set the world on fire in their 1st season same with most of their side. Allbrighton on a freebie imagine the outrage if City went for him? It really is horses for courses now.
dawg we will not tell them to Fuck off because 9 times out of ten we really want that player so we end up paying the asking price ( sorry the manager really wants that player )ala Lescott, santa cruz, Mangala, Fernando etc
