Therapeutic Use Exemptions in sport.

I think some are sailing pretty close to the line and some may well have crossed it. It was a major co-incidence that Bradley Wiggins needed TUEs before some of his major targets (tour de france, giro d'italia). Poor guy was taken ill just before major competitions.

I think someone else had a TUE 'as a precaution' rather than as a consequence of being ill.

There's still too much drug taking in sport. Only last week a weightlifter from the London games was awarded a bronze medal after finishing 9th at the games.

I think they should ban them.
If you are sick, you rest like the rest of the population does.

I remember when Heather Watson was on her period and she lost in the first round of Wimbledon. It should be a fairer system and that shouldn't include what would be illegal drugs for other athletes.

If you've got a cold, tough shit.

And if you've got asthma, join the paralympics and compete against others with the same issue.

Which population is this?  I don't get the luxury of resting unless I'm physically unable to sit at a desk and use a computer.  Which is almost never.

I have had chronic lower back pain where i could barely walk let alone bend and yet i was told that experts recommend people with back pain are better off at work! Maybe so but how the feck do i get there when it's agony trying to get in and out of my car or even walk? I am partially at a desk and also driving about at work. I'd love to rest until the pain eased after a couple of days but

Same here, MCM.  I've got a prolapsed L3, which is periodically crushing my sciatic nerve.  Sometimes I'm fine, but other times (like now), even being in a sitting position is painful.  But do I get to recover?  Do I bollocks  Sad
