What scores do you look out for?
Hi fellow blues
I was thinking over the weekend of how dramatically things have changed for us and our whole perception of City.
A few years back we used to be watching the results of fellow promotion hopefuls or relegation fellow candidates. More recently, we've been checking out the Villa's, Spurs and Evertons, hoping they'll slip up so we could steal a march so to speak.
All the while, we've been cheering on the Arsenals and more recently Chelsea as they have been the only teams standing between the red scum and world dominance.
Even as recently as last season, I've been hoping Chelsea won as I didn't think we were in a position to catch them, whereas they themselves could have caught the Stretford canaries.
However, I now look at chelsea as a direct rival and as such, I hope they slip up, whereas Arsenal, although they could improve slightly (fuck me, they can't surely get any worse) don't really concern me.. and Spurs are nothing more than a top 6 club this season (if they're lucky).
Anyone agree or see things differently?

Feel pretty much the same as you Joey. Think Chelsea and Utd are the ones we hope will slip up. For the moment, Arsenal are floundering. I also don't think Spuds are as big a threat as a couple of seasons ago. Not sure whether Liverpool will get stronger either.
For the life of me I can't imagine why Wenger has got himself in this position. He knew full well that Nasri and Fabregas wanted out - but he did not line anyone up to replace them. Instead we saw a protracted transfer saga with both players and now he's miserable cos he got thrashed. Well hello!!

I always hope the rags lose regardless, its just embedded in to my psyche.I watched them yesterday in the pub with all the real reds and even at 8 - 2, i still held a hope that Arsenal could pull it back, or at the very least baconface would have a heart attack.

BWTAC
I was confident that we would be top going into the pain in the arse international break. I thought the scum would win, but not by a five or more margin. Can't belive just how bad Arsenal were yesterday.
Anyone see Rosicky at the Rooney free kick? He was in the wall and neither jumped or turned round afterwards. There's a man who really doesn't give a shit about his club

That's team sprite for you, it's all Arsene's fault I reckon... when nasri and cesc were available rosocksy never got a look and in the summer instead of looking to replace his want away players he came out with comments like "if we lose both players we are a small club" this kind of attitude toward your team B doesn't help.
I hope Mancini doesn't make the same mistake! We need to keep everyone happy(ish)... apart from twats like balotelli and tevez of course...

Joey, they were truely shocking and they need new faces asap. The media wankfest rolls on for the rags, conveniently glossing over how probably the poorest Arsenal side in donkeys years stiil managed to score 2 at OT and should have been 3 with the penalty.
I am actually starting to feel a bit sorry for Wenger, he has visually aged over the summer and looks a broken man.
Ah fuck him anyway.

I'm loving arsenal's, and in particular Wengers demise, He is the biggest hypocrite in football. Never see's his own teams faults, but see's and has an opinion on faults every other club, this is the end of the road for him imo.
On a brighter note it looks as i Crocky has gone on loan (to Betis), just a few more to ship out now.

Si, i've just heard the RSC deal is off due to him getting injured on the way to the airport.
Seriously, how he ever passed a medical is beyond me.

Kia said Mr Hughes is waiting for Barcelona to come for him... he'll be waiting for a few more years I presume!
Crocky seems to get past medicals, I think the medic in charge at city was sacked for giving him a thumbs up...

Shaken - why do you hate Bolton so much? Just curious

Re: What scores do you look out for?
They're Burys rivals Wensdi, when they were at Burnden Pk they were only 6 miles away (now they're about 20 miles away). They might not see us as "rivals" as we're leagues apart but we hate them just the same, fuckin Wanky bastards .
Hope that answers your question.

Well yes - that answers that question. I have spotted your euphemism for Bolton many times - and always wondered why the hatred. Kinda like the Utd thing then. (Sheff and Manch).

Macc town is the only other for me as I know a few Macc fans and have been to watch them about a dozen times, generally dragged along to be fair, when we aren't playing on the same day

Re: What scores do you look out for?
rosicky was a wanker at that free kick.
i can't remember which utd player was in the wall for the 2nd free kick and he never even looked at the ball as the kick was taken. his gaze was firmly on the keeper to see if there was a rebound for him.
total opposite ends of the spectrum.

Re: What scores do you look out for?
I don't look out for or 'hope' for any other results.
Arsenal on Sunday is a case in point. We would confidently expect them not to lose by 6 and therefore City stay top. See, I'd be disappointed if I was looking for that, but I wasn't so I'm not. So, bask in the demolition of Spurs and then whatever else happens, happens. Why worry?
Maine Road FC & City - that's all there is.
