There is a part of me that wants Mangala to stay. As our most expensive flop it would be great if Pep could improve & reinvent him.

Just heard that he lost the ball right in the box, was a goal, but the ref ruled it out for a foul. Anyone know if it should have stood?

Amazing that we are still dominating possession with some many kids in the team. I know, I know it's only preseason, but would be great to start some cup games with this sort of team selection

So probably not difficult for our kids to control the game

Dawdled on a short pass in the box by Ederson, got robbed, fell down and yes, should have stood...but TBF, Ederson didn't make an effort.
Mangala played some nice cross-field balls, but he's not as comfortable on the ball as the other 3 CB's, nor Yoyo.
Great to see pretty much an academy team play for the last 30 mins....and still boss the game.
It was like watching a game behind closed doors though....very slow, very ponderous against a team that pretty much tried to defend for 90 mins. Good to see Bernardo get some minutes, but looked like he needs another 3 or 4 games to get up to speed, along with Mendy, hence the friendly against Girona after the BHA game.
Played 4
Won 3
Goals Against 3
Goals Scored 10
Not a bad start considering we've played United, Real Madrid, Spurs and WHU in those 4 games and given loads of kids, plenty of game time.

The only thing for me is that we still don't take enough of our chances

What freeks me out is Silva's new hair cut. Every time I see him I think Stephen Ireland

It may take several games to get used to it. So long as he doesn't lose his skill it's all good

From Citywatch:
"City lined up again with a back 5 consisting of Danilo on the right, Kompany, Stones and Otamendi through the middle and then Sané as the left-wing back."
From anyone who saw most of the game how did Sane do as a left back?

He actually had a good game, but he's better as a winger....he made a couple of dodgy tackles, which in the PL, would have gotten him a yellow card.
I doubt we'll ever see him playing there this season.

I didn't think West Ham did enough attacking to judge his defensive work...

I think overall we can only take positives from the teams overall performance. Let's hope the hammers save their best for the Rags in their next game

As I said earlier, West Ham were woeful. We did what we had to do. They'll get better, but so will we. Just need to be clinical

Without seeing the game I think I mentioned after the game against Spurs that I was having a touch of Deja Vu regarding our finishing & putting games to bed early. Hopefully it is not going to dog us all season. As someone rightly said they are pre season friendlies but that is the time to try new systems and if we blow the opposition away then take the positives that we are much better. After all West ham have had a pre season too.....

As it's preseason you obviously can't read too much into the game, but any team that's outclassed by a better one always looks woeful. Pick any game & any team where the score finished 3-0 & no one will be saying that the losing side played well.

Re: City v WHU - Pre-season
Oh trust me...WHU were fucking awful. No ambition whatsoever.
As for us, it wasn't even like we created loads of chances like the Spurs game, we were just too slow in the build up again and our crossing was garbage, apart from the 2 crosses that led to goals.

We stepped it up for Spurs. Walker was always going to give it his everything. This game, we knew we didn't really have to work that hard early on. So we didn't.
