Yes, Delph is still a solid squad player either way, but we are short in the Left Back position, so makes perfect sense.   He also has 3 months to show Pep what he can do, it's been 2 games so far.

We shouldn't have gone into the season with one top class LB. now we can't take the risk with a converted MF for the rest of the season regardless of how well Delph may do.

Agree....but for £3m if that's what we can pay for Ghoulam...it's a no brainer. We'll see what he's like next week...but he's supposed to be very decent, if not quite at the level of the new City media legend - #sharkteam!

From what I've seen so far Delph is more than good enough for a 2nd choice LB. Don't forget those couple of games were the CL away & Chelsea away. That fact that he kept Danilo out of the team speaks volumes in itself. If it weren't for his injury record I'd say we have cover enough, but at £3M it's a no brainier. I've got a feeling he'd make a good left footed central defender too.
