He's contracted til 2022 on 65k/pw....surely you cant think he's  done anywhere enough to warrant 200k/pw.

I don't think he meant the actual figure..

basically we're blocking a new contract over 10K per week..  that's entirely worth it to keep a happy striker, and happy strikers play better..

I'm with Den on this. He's not really done enough to deserve it. But, if it's only 10k, pay him and tie him down for 6 years

I think he is currently on £65k

new contract was offered at £90k
..holding out for £100k

I think given he's current Brazil first choice striker and heading to a world cup, no harm in getting that contract offered and signed up.

yes he is under contract, but if real come knocking and he's on £65k, his head will be spinning not just turning...  majkes sense to get a nice hefty relase clause in there whilst we are at it.?

What Danilo gets paid is irrelevant. Sterling earns over 200k/pw if I'm not mistaken..and you know what I think of him.

You can't base this argument on what every player at City earns.

Why not...it's about wages?

Put it this way....let's say goes off to the WC and wins it with Brazil. He win the golden boot, player of the tournament or whatever...

Whilst out there, he'll have every top club sniffing around. 

Now, City have only offered him £90k pw....what do you think he could get at Barca or Real Madrid? And, he won't have signed an extended contract as City only offered him £90k pw. If he wants £100k to sign a 6 year deal...give it to him. Keep the player happy...don't give it to him, we're leaving ourselves open to losing a player to a rival European club that may get the best of his ability in the next couple of years.

Just doesn't make any sense when the likes of Danilo, Delph etc are on close to £100k pw.

To be the No.1 striker for them, with a plethora of stars they can pick from - £100k pw is nothing...to get him on a 6 year deal.

He's 20 years of age...he's coming off the back of a bad injury.

For City:

18 goals in 43 appearances.

Last year - 7 goals in 11 matches.
This year - 11 goals in 32 matches.

He's got another 5-7 years before he may even hit his peak.

I'm happy to give him time.

Last 15 appearances for City.....

2 assists and 1 goal. He's going through a bad patch.

He's finding his feet after the injury...granted, prior to it he wasn't scoring, but still contributing.

I agree too. Just give him the extra £10k a week over what we've offered and lock him in. I'd rather he hit his form with us than someone else and for the sake of such a tiny sum, it's hardly worth the effort arguing.
