Sterling, Salah, Sanè

DDG is good but hyped too much. Makes a decent save and always called world class.
Ederson suits the players in front of him.
If Kompany had played half a dozen more games, I might have gone for him.

Sane - Young Player of the Year
Salah - will win the POTY (even though it should be KDB).

You can't have Sterling in your team of the year (and not Sane) and then not have Sterling as YPOTY

Why not? I can have whoever I like. This is the PL, not overall for PL, Cup and CL.

Sterling has 16 PL goals this season (4th behind Aguero, Kane and Salah). 7 assists.

Sane has 9 PL goals. 11 assists.

I'd say if Salah is going to win it over KDB, it's purely on his goal tally (stats)...even though KDB has contributed all round, far more to us winning the title than Salah has for them potentially finishing 3rd.

Sterling's played an extra 60 minutes over the season so no difference between them.

It's not all about stats, but Sterling has better stats PL wise and overall wise in terms of goals and assists.

It's virtually impossible to exclude Sterling from the team of the season for his goals and assists, but he's also done it in the cups and CL.

I had Sterling in my team of the season. Sane as YPOTY.

Or....to satisfy you.

Swap Sterling to YPOTY and add Sane into the team of the season....would that make you happier?

I'd have the whole City team as the team of the season and put Salah as LB.

My team is who I think THEY will pick. If I had to pick it, it would go something like this:

1. Ederson or DDG. Personally, Ederson will win the PL title and has brought us a new dynamic, where DDG has saved the rags consistently all season....but I'd still give it to Ederson.

2. RB - easy - Walker

3. Otamendi - easy

4. You could argue Stones was excellent prior to his injury and was better than any other CB in the PL - and won a title and a cup. He's struggling at the moment to get into the team, so that may count against him. You could look at Burnley's CB's...but really, over Stones? Vertongen has been very good as well.

5. LB is a problem for me in our team. Delph's been good but injured. Robertson has done well at LFC, but that's only in the last couple of months...he was poor to start with. Young has been consistent for United and has some big games for them.

6.Fernandinho...easy

7.KDB....easy.

8. Silva..easy

9. Salah...easy, you can't dismiss the top goalscorer

10. Sane

11. Raheem

I think they'll go for Kane, don't ask me why, but they will...but if you look at the stats, he's only a couple of goals ahead of Aguero and Aguero will have won a title and a cup, so should be well ahead of Kane.

Therefore, do you add Aguero as your striker with Salah and one of Sterling or Sane? Well Sterling has a lot more PL goals than Sane, so it'd be hard to omit him....therefore, Sterling would be in ahead of Sane if we fit Aguero in the team.

The point is, and I hope you can see this, that if you're having one player in your team of the season, and he is also eligible for the young player of the season, how can you pick a different young player of the season?

Unless the 'rules' for each category is different.

Why, do the rules say if you pick a team of the season, the YPOTY has to be in that category or visa versa?

If you see my comment on what 'I' would pick...you'll see Sane is in there.

So basically, you're picking Sane ahead of Sterling for what reason?

And...if Sterling is the YPOTY ahead of Sane...why isn't he in your team of the season - as both are in the YPOTY category?

It's frustrating dealing with you lately. It's illogical to pick one guy in your team of the season (as a winger) and then leapfrog someone else as a better young player of the season (who is also a winger) if they are both eligible for YPOTY.

And I don't recall giving a YPOTY in this thread. And I don't recall excluding either Sane or Sterling from my TOTY.

But I didn't....I picked both Sterling and Sane in MY team of the season. And who's Mary?

My original team was who I think they will pick. Keep up Deeba. 

OK....we both have Sane and Sterling (in OUR team of the season). THEY won't pick both. It'll have Kane in there, guaranteed..even though Sergio is only a few goals behind him and won 2 trophies more.

So...Sane or Sterling....who wins YPOTY?
