Re: New Home Kit 2018/2019
Soooo.. not been a great reception to this over the social media channels..
theres your "other" topic for tonight is asking the punters their views... maybe take a print out of it along to show them..
my issues -
1. No neck/collar etc. only purpose was to put the young rapscallion in the picture against an old red-brick terrace in camo trousers with a big gold chain on show. All was missing was a bottle of white lightning and a joint from the typical look of the area.
2. The button. everyone everywhere is in agreement, the use of a singular button does not look the best. Think double up, and press-stud it behind so it's not on show?
3. The white NEXEN on the arms. we have it in dark type this season, why would it go white on the shirt next year? the sleeves are not that dark that dark NEXEN would be concealed.
4. The shoulder stripes are very reminiscent of the kit 2 years ago. but there seems to be no edges. it meets the shirt, and just stops at the end of the sleeve. Not sure if they have tried to do a sound-wave impression thing on it, but seems to be circular higher up on the shoulder?
anybody else have any opinion?
I believe we are moving to Puma next year..

Re: New Home Kit 2018/2019
What the fuck is that? It's not the shirt of champions, that's for damn sure!
I'm not entirely sure where to start with the critique, but I'm going for the button first. I'm not a fan of buttons on football shirts anyway, but a single, obvious button looks crap. And look at the way it pulls the shirt from the collar and down the chest, it's like it's too tight. Awful. And if it doesn't look right on the Ginger Prince, how bad is it going to look on us fat bastards? And check out how it pulls the badge out of line as well.
And why no collar? I can get behind a band and I'll even accept a proper collar, but there's nothing there at all, it just stops, like it's supposed to have one, but they forgot to attach it. It looks like it's not finished.
And what is going on with those sleeves? If you're going with a sleeve of a different colour, at least make it contrasting, like they do on the Arsenal or Burnley shirts. It just clashes, like the one two years ago. Yuck!
And what the hell kind of material is it made of? I don't mind that Nike use recycled plastic in the base material, but this one looks like it's made entirely out of spring water bottles. And I bet it pulls when you walk within half a yard of an exposed nail head as well.
Just going off the looks and how it appears to hang on a man who could probably wear a suit off the peg, I'd say this is worse than the thing we had two years ago. It's worse than Umbro's worst effort with that weird shoulder panel that never sat right. I would even go as far as to say this is the worst home shirt we've had since the horror shows of the nineties.

I'd heard we were going to go with Under Armour. But given the nice job Puma have done with Arsenal's shirts, I'd be happy if they took over. Anything but these Nike abominations!Moonchester wrote:I believe we are moving to Puma next year..

I saw somewhere that under armour ended up a no go as puma offered a much bigger & better deal plus they are the main rival to addidas who supply the red scum. Would make sense for City to go with them.

Just seen the shirt on City watch and it looks a much darker blue than the one pictured above. I do hope it is the darker one as the one Kev is wearing is a bit insipid to say the least.

It's absolutely grim. The shorts are just a simple plain white and the socks are navy blue.
Nike are utter shite. Wouldn't wear that if you gave it me for free - the top is design like an old aunties blouse.

Have to agree Andy, it's awful. My last kit which I still have was the white and purple Thomas Cook away, so I am not exactly target audience.

Navy blue socks? What the hell?? Even Reebok wouldn't have foisted that on us!blueboy wrote:It's absolutely grim. The shorts are just a simple plain white and the socks are navy blue.

Old auntie's blouse! Yes, thank you, I knew it reminded me of something

Re: New Home Kit 2018/2019
I've not bought one for years.. but the wife normally gets me one each anniversary in September..
will head her away from home kit this season...
problem is, they will still sell thousands of them so won't care one bit.
the entirety of social media has blasted it and said it looks pants..
as in 99.999% of the replies..
if they want feedback it's everywhere...

If it didn't have the button and just continued round itd probably look ok.
Whoever the fuck thought the navy blue socks went perfectly with the rest of the kit wants sacking.
