Season has to be suspended
Arsenal can't play for 14 days since Arteta contact. That's their next two league games gone. How does that affect West Ham? (Arsenal's last opponents and Arteta would have shaken Moyes' hand etc.) How does that affect Portsmouth (Arsenal's opponents in the FA cup less than 2 weeks ago) - surely the can't play this weekend?
Hudson-Odoi confirmed case. Presumably Chelsea can't play for two weeks now. They played Everton last week. Was he there? Does that mean Everton can't play the Merseyside derby now? Chelsea played Liverpool in the FA cup on 3rd March so, presumably, if Hudson-Odoi was shaking hands etc, they can't play until least 17th March.
Leicester City have 3 players self-isolating. Presumably, they can't play either. What about Mendy? Can City's game be called off because of one player taking precautionary measures?
Has to be suspended until at least after the international break (where no games will take place). That gives us a 3-4 week break.
The situation is likely to get worse before it gets better as the government are talking about 10-14 weeks from now. We're talking 3-4 months so we'll be into June-July at the earliest.
Suspend the season now.

Poor leadership everywhere you look, the Government, the FA. UEFA have finally done something and suspended the Champs League, just a matter of time now before all major sport is suspended. Should have happened days ago.

The problem is going to be the gordian knot of sorting all competitions including the england games in May June as well as potential players in the Olympics. Who takes precedent national teams? Championship competitions or premiership all being shoehorned into 2 months?

Re: Season has to be suspended
Euro's have to be postponed. I expect they will try to complete the season sometime in late summer and start next season late without the League cup and, possibly, the FA cup.
They could shoehorn next season into about six months, basically playing every 3-4 days with no International football.
I'll be on national radio tomorrow evening to discuss the situation and implications for football clubs.

It’ll cause no end of problems, but it’s absolutely the right thing to do. One oddity will be player contracts, which generally end at the start of June. David Silva, for instance, could leave before the season is completed, or could be out of contract before the Champions League final has been played (if we’re in it ).

When this explodes properly, we're talking about maybe 3-6 months. A vaccine may not be ready for 12 months or more. It could quite possibly be that this season is completed in 12 months time.

So cancellations extended until 30th April but they play on for as long as it takes to finish.

They'll play on for as long as it takes to award Liverpool the title. They would be criticised if they gave the title to them without playing 38 games, and it would also have an unfair impact on the teams at the bottom and in the championship.
Who gets relegated without finishing the full fixtures? Who gets promoted and relegated right through the leagues?
