We have been plagued by injuries this season and we are still in October.

We started the season with Aguero, Bernardo, Zinchenko and Cancelo injured.

Since then, we've lost Gabby J, Laporte, Stones, Aké, Mendy and now Fernandinho.

Are we simply unlucky, suffering because of the short summer break/pre-season or something else?

this is getting ridiculous now. We get 3 back then lose 4 after the international break. You forgot KDB to add to our woes. Then another 2 after the 1st champions league game.

But an injury to the greatest player ever, VVD, is far worse than all those injuries put together - now that really is terrible news!

Good question Ray, surely we can't be that unlucky....are they being rushed back???

It does seem strange that this happens season after season.
Surely somebody within the club is looking for an explanation.

Fairly confident for tomorrow’s game though, injuries or not.

Sadly we are obviously not going to be able to rely on Sergio's goals to take us where we want to go this season in the PL & CL. With Gabriel Jesus also a long term casualty it shows how light we are up front, effectively relying on Raheem to score most of our goals.
How unlucky are we that after hopefully now securing a stronger more reliable (hopefully) defence with the signing of Dias and Ake, we now get similar problems at the other end. Then before the week had begun, Ake was also added to the injury list!!!
We used to be able to field 2 teams that could beat most PL teams. , now we cannot field a single team that can beat most PL teams, 8 points from 5 games is not far off relegation form, of course i expect things to pick up but its still concerning.

I've been saying for 12mths we need a striker, as Serge spends more time out than in now and Jesus won't get us 20 goals a season...Kane!!!

Yep think a few have been saying we needed another striker. Even if it’s someone like Troy Deeney or Danny Ings at least it’s a recognised striker.
Luckily & incredibly if we win our game in hand we would still be only 2 points off the top 2 so all is not lost but we need to get some kind of settled team & please no more injuries.

A decent win on Saturday, which should be more than achievable, and we’re still heading up into the leading group.
Ok we’re not playing brilliantly, but with a few injuries at the moment (which I won’t bang on about like a scolded scouser) I’ll settle for not losing too much ground.
I’ll accept the Leicester game was appalling, but I think we’re already seeing that a point away at dirty Leeds wasn’t such a disaster (as we were told at the time), and West Ham will take points off a few top teams when they’re in the mood.
Onwards and upwards, we will start clicking so not too despondent.
Still think football is a farce with VAR and no fans though.
