PG as its a yearly thing I can see boarse in there for winning europen trophy but why the hell Wenger is in there after bottling every competition from march onwards is beyond me. Unless its cos he's French.

Not just the managers lee1, the players are also a bit baffling! Why not make it easy and pick the whole Barca team!

Re: Dear FIFA...
i agree that FIFA are as competent as a chocolate fire guard, and the overlooking of David Silva is nothing short of criminal, but when is Bobby going to get the recognition he deserves?Wenger is being touted as the manager of the month, and yet compared to Bobby he has done nothing,if it was not for Van Persie Arsenal would still be in the bottom four!!

Re: Dear FIFA...
What a load of bullshit! Proves FIFA are against us.
We've played six games in October, won all six of them, scored 24 goals (average 4 per game), conceded only six AND beat the current PL title holders by a massive margin in their own back yard.
What the hell do we have to do to get recognition?

I think some of the pundits setanta/ espn are starting to notice us and are giving us credit but not BBC, Sky, Talkshite and all the papers and FIFA...
but I thinks if we continue to win things and play well they will have no choice but to give us some recognition...

What the fuck did Wenger win dick-wad? Jesus, you are obsessed with this board!!!
FA Cup, joint 2nd on points - all with a bunch over egotistical, over-paid mercenaries..........oh, and 5 points clear of the chasing pack, including the Geordies, 1 point behind your glorious manager!

It's one thing not spending money, it's another winning something....to which he hasn't in 7 seasons!!
As for CL....i've said it on here, we've been pretty awful SO FAR.....we'll see tomorrow, then you can gloat all you like, but until then, you're still lagging desperately behind us with a poor version of the 99' team....FACT!

ONH, its an award for this year not a bloody lifetime achievement oscar. If he got it 6 years ago he would deserve it but getting them in the CL in 4th spot, 'arry did that the season before with Spuds but damn sure he didnt get nominated.

Den i know what your saying, but we will not get respect no matter what we do imo. Ask chelsea if they have had any respect, the answer would be no, and they have been part of the chumps league for 7/8 years and made a final and semi's. The power the top clubs have inside fifa and the G group will keep them in the competition year on year, and they will continue to make rule changes to keep others off the gravy train.

Re: Dear FIFA...
So is RWC going to join us then? Cool! And I've got just the thing for him as well: A replica away shirt from the 2005/06 season (the navy blue Reebok one) from back in the day when we had Psycho as manager, we scored 43 goals all season, finished up 15th in the league, sold Sweep to Chelsea and our leading goalscorers were Andy Cole and Darius Vassell. It doesn't fit me any more, the only reason I keep it is it reminds me of that 3-1 stuffing we gave the rags.
The history lesson is free, but the shirt is a tenner, mate.
The best bit is, you can't get these any more, so you can't be accused of being a bandwagon jumper. And you can show it the away fans when they ask you where you were when we were shit and they'd have to believe you've been a fan for years!

It's a tribal thing. It transpires that some of us men like to feel a sense of belonging, which we derive from wearing our colours when we go into battle. Or in this case, going watching a football match. I don't wear them at any other time and in the case of this specific shirt, I don't wear it at all because it, erm... shrunk in the wash. Yes, I think I might get away with that...

its a bit sad that you feel you have to wear a football shirt to "feel a sense of belonging" to a football team, its in your heart, your blood, not the shirt you wear on your back IMO but each to their own.

Fuck it:
Wythenshawe, off Portway Road until i was 17, then Fallowfield for 6 months, followed by Salford Quays in the late 80's, went to Oz for 18 months, and for the next 15 years became a nomad, spending more time in foreign countries than in the UK (probably over 50 in that time due to my job).....for the past 5 years lived in a small village outside of Chester (still spend too much time in other countries), mum still lives in Burnage, family still in Wythenshawe....so take your pic ONH.........Manc enough?
You can take the boy out of Wythy and all that....and it's true on ocassions.

Re: Dear FIFA...
Hey, I never said I was perfect! But the belief in my heart and blood doesn't get recognised by the "man" on the "street" as much as wearing the colours on my back does. And I'm proud to be associated with my club, so why shouldn't I show that? And besides, it's not really up to anyone else to criticise, I mean, I could say something about wearing a girly pin badge or wearing a scarf because it's a bit chilly...ONH wrote:its a bit sad that you feel you have to wear a football shirt to "feel a sense of belonging" to a football team, its in your heart, your blood, not the shirt you wear on your back IMO but each to their own.

I think up to teens is ok for footy tops, the lucky bastards who don't balloon when they hit their thirties look ok but if you're a lard arse it's a definite no.
Saying that if you wear a yoonited top you'll look a right cunt whatever the age.
Burnage - got my first bike from a cycle shop(Bradburys I think) there, the chopper was the must have thing then.Think we used to go to the pictures there as well?
Crumpsall hospital- is that still there or is it north Manchester general?

Sorry to say I am from Cheshire now living in Bolton. I am all that is to be despised about the new Man City fan. Luckily my first game was in 1977 so I am hopefully not too plastic
I was a ball-boy in 1979 which is my personal claim to fame. Met Mick Channon in the players lounge before the game as he was looking at the horses surprise surprise.
