City record near £200M loss
Not such a big deal is since we haven't borrowed any money - it is all from our benevolent benefactor.
We will be getting some big hitters off the payroll soon enough so this should be halved by next year.
Forgetting transfer fees, RSC, Ade, Bridge, SWP, Tevez, Ned, Boateng, Given, Jo, Bellamy would all have been included. I make that at least £900K per week if not £1M per week.
If the guys that remain all leave within the next year, that's £50M off our wage bill. Transfer fees should add another £50M to that at least.
That's £100M.
Ok, we've bought a few new boys (Aguero in particular) and increased salaries for a few others too, so this will make that £100M saving more like £60M.
Champs league should be worth about £30M to us and increased revenues from merchandising, sponsorship (excluding Etihad deal) should be another £10-£20M.
Without too much effort, I can see over £100M of extra income and savings.
There will be other things like increased TV money from the EPL and more money should we win the thing.
Now the loss could easily be down to about £80M. Still a hefty amount of money. The new stadium and shirt deal is worth an extra £25M a year so we are very near to a loss of £50M.
That's a decent starting point for next financial year.

Not too worried Dawg - we had to spend money to make money - just like any other investors does. Had to spend money to make an impression in the Prem League AND Europe. Time will tell - we'll always have our share of envious naysayers like the twit above.

It's one thing to come on here and post well informed/interesting info for a bit of banter ONH - but you are like a broken record. You are boring.

I'm sure i'd spend my life talking about a club i dislike, on a website full of fans i dislike, constantly repeating myself, making myself look like a complete twat trying to get the attention i never got as a child...............

Nope....and there lies the difference between a Man City fan and a Man United fan.............one couldn't give a shit about what happens to a club below us, the other is obsessed with a club above theirs.

But nowhere does it say 'Forum for repetitive fans of other clubs who have nothing of any worth to say but love trying to rub City fans up the wrong way to try and get a reaction'.
I'd go and see a doctor about your obsession if i were you, he'll probably tell you to walk to the bridge, chuck yourself off the edge and end it all........i'd agree with him.

Re: City record near £200M loss
It is a decent article TD, and i'd agree with it. The amount of money swashing around the champs league guarantee clubs fortunes if they can keep qualifying year on year. Put together with the 60m off the prem and countless new marketing money opportunities coming our way we should be sound. As long as we stop splashing the cash in the transfer windows, barring the odd quality buy, we should meet the ffp requirements. Its the clubs that miss out on the chumps league after splashing the cash that will suffer. It do feel slightly dirty with this 'joining the elite talk' though, time for a shower.

Does show where we've come from though - in 4 years!! Amazing journey so far - talking about the fact that we can afford a £200m loss and we will re-coup that easily over the next 18 months.

Re: City record near £200M loss
If we take the following as reasonable sell on figures:
Ned - 5
Tevez - 25
Ade - 15
Bellamy - 3
RSC - 8
Bridge - 6m
That in itself = £62m conservative est.
Add to that the wages - another £25m per year
This time next season - just from the sale of current players and wage cuts = nearly £80m....without any add-ons through sponsorship etc.
£200m soon becomes £70m by next season.

Tevez - £20M
Ade - £10M
Bridge - £0
RSC - £3M
Ned - £3-£4M
That's still over £35M. we might squeeze £40M if we are lucky.

Re: City record near £200M loss
How can the likes of Blatter, come all holier than thou, stating that we are ruining the game, when he comes out with comments he's come out with this week?
And another important economic factor missed in this ever tightening recession.... City's owners are pouring money into football, AND into Manchester, with City's new Academy, how many jobs will it create? how many youngsters out of the Million now on the dole will get a job from the money that City's owners are pouring in?
Ruining football my arse, more like saving it from dull Groundhog days of the Sky 4.

Re: City record near £200M loss
City were always going to post substantial losses, so are these figures really that much of a suprise?
In business you have to spend money to accumilate money.....apparently, so i'm sure the top brass have things in hand. £200m's loose change anyway .

Very interesting article that blue.
Great finishing line to it "Blame Platini, it's his idea". This is what happens when you put the French in charge.

good article from samuels as most of his normally are.
If we hadn't made the champs league last year, we wouldn't have nasri, clichy or aguero.
