Joey's observations from yesterday
Morning fellow blues and ONH
As most of the regulars on here may know, I took Mrs Joey and the kids to the game yesterday. It was their first ever football match (the kids that is, not Mrs Joey).
First of all, I'd like to say thanks to our resident rag for his parking advice, I parked near the Kippax pub on Grimshaw Lane and it was 15 minutes walk to the ground and a doddle getting out, up Oldham Road to the M62 afterwards.
My little girl has a downer on Newcastle fans because they were swearing on the approach to the ground (if I could transport her back 30 years she'd have a thromby). I can't believe the geordies actually sang 'where were you when you were shit' and actually believed that bollox. My brother went to Newcastle Poly in the early 80's and recalled going to see Newcastle at home to Wrexham in a 2nd division night match with 7,000 others.
Anyway, on to the game. We were high up in the north east corner of the family stand surrounded by Japs, Spaniards and some Norweigan Anthony Cotton lookalikes (I could have closed my eyes and imagined being at the swamp). I recall Joe Hart touching the ball after 25 minutes and trying to recall whether that was his first touch or not. After Krul saved superbly from Balotelli, I was fearing that the Joey family were about to Jinx it (I went to the Blackburn home game when Sven was in charge and we dropped our first home points of that season). I could see a 0-0er. I thought the ref was giving some soft free kicks to the toon, or was I being biased? By half time I was much more relaxed.
Second half I thought our defence looked very shaky at times, what was Vincent doing when Ben Arta went through and hit the post? One thing that I still haven't got to grips with as it wasn't shown on MOTD. What happened with the Aguero offside? I couldn't tell whether he was off or on (I'm guessing he was offside) but everyone seemed to stop, the linesman's flag stayed down, Aguero continued, then the flag went up??? It was at the other end, so any comments would be appreciated.
Overall, not a vintage performance, but 3 points and 3 goals against the meanest defence in the prem.
I thought Milner was fantastic. Watching on telly doesn't give any reflection of the work rate he puts in. Richards was amazing too (Capello, hang your head in shame).
I thought the Newcastle fans were pretty pathetic. 'We get more than you' Obviously not singing about trophies or brain cells.
Can't wait for the next one.
Only down side, Mrs Joey bought my little lad a City scarf from the shop while I wasn't looking. She pulled it out of the bag in the ground only to realise that it's half City, half Bayern Munich. WTF??????? ')" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">

Re: Joey's observations from yesterday
Aguero was in an offside position (by about 5 yds) but hadn't touched the ball so play continued. Yaya then came bombing through and was about to take possesion when Sergio tapped the ball, if he hadn't touched then Yaya would have through. The linesman got a load of stick but he was bang on.
Re: Joey's observations from yesterday
where is my comment? that's happened a few times. why always me?
anyway, i said good article, decent result, but shameful on the city scarf.
I do all the city related purchases in my household joey.
i suggest you put your trousers on and lay down the law to your missus!

Re: Joey's observations from yesterday
Pink with blue writing, thankfully I've only seen girls wearing them.
Re: Joey's observations from yesterday
The pink scarves have been around for a couple of seasons, perhaps a trip to specsavers?
Do we know who sent the fireworks into who?
I sit in 120 so couldn't tell
Richards was magnificent yesterday,I thought it was a great reaction to being dropped by capello and Milner gets better and better.
Kompany is not playing well enough to warrant a starting place for me at the moment,it's just a shame we have no realistic back up as an out of form Kompany is still better than kolo or Savic. Its the one area I would like to see strengthened in January

Re: Joey's observations from yesterday
Thiago Silva would be good, but I think its unlikely... Kompany having a bad patch, agree that he is still miles better than savic and kolo. If Ned had ditched his agent and not used his mum and acted like kia's tool maybe he would have got a shout...

ya weirdo!
The other thing about Richard's, I don't know if the Psycho has anything to do with this non-selection because he had a fall out with pierce a while back didn't he?!

Re: Joey's observations from yesterday
crapello doesn't fancy his defending.
richards is the best attacking full back in the country by miles.
if he doesn't rate richards defending, how on earth can he rate glen johnsons?

Re: Joey's observations from yesterday
speaking of black,
as well as the united nations surrounding le famme Joey yesterday, there was a bloke and his missus behind us, at half time, I heard him saying to her about 'the black City player on the wing passing it to the other black City player'
Gosh, I thought, we have more than one token black player, hurrah for City, fifa will be proud of us
