Re: Team vs the Goons
You are right about Bridge but Hargreaves crocked or just come back... no way he is ready for 90minutes away to Arsenal!
We are short on options, we will defo start with one striker and that is Dzeko..
I think we need two DM's we can't trust that back four...

Re: Team vs the Goons
Don't think Hargreaves is fit so we may push Kolorov to left mid and showcase Bridges talents at left back
Can't get a train back tomorrow due to the public sector strike starting at midnight so have to drive down, not looking forward to that, does anyone know an easy place to park up and get the tube in?

Mancini said at last weeks prematch before the newky game that hargreaves had trained well and was pencilled in for the Arsenal carling cup game, so unless something has changed i'd expect him to be in the squad.

Re: Team vs the Goons
Surely Yaya will get his obligitory 90mins of first team football?
Hart
Zaba, Kolo, Savic, Kolarov
De Jong, Yaya
Johnson, Hargreaves, Nasri
Dzeko
Would rather Kolarov didn't play after his non-performance against Napoli. Also, is Aguero 100% fit at the moment?

Think we should put out a strongish team & beat the Goons. We have Norwich next so maybe we can afford not to rest some players

Bobby says he may change every position for this match.

That may mean Nasri doesn't start, maybe Ned will get a game at right back.

Re: Team vs the Goons
I don't think we should chance a weakened side against the Canaries, personally. The rags are against Villa, the gooners have Wigan and the spuds have Bolton - easy games all around and we can't chance losing ground to that lot as they'll be right on top of us by next weekend if we don't get a win at Chelsea.
I dare say Wenger won't be wanting to take chances against the pielanders either, seeing as they're on the back of a win at weekend and they'll be feeling good. I'm expecting weak sides all round and I think our third string will be enough to overcome theirs. And if not, well, it's three less games to worry about.

Re: Team vs the Goons
can't see bridge starting (hope not anyway) but i like moonchester's team.
nasri may start as he only played maybe an hour on sunday and he shouldn't be starting at the weekend

Re: Team vs the Goons
The only concern I have about Moon's team really is the complete lack of pace in the back four.
Should be an interesting line up anyway, even if we lose I won't mind seeing a few youngsters/ how close Hargreaves is to 90 minutes.

Re: Team vs the Goons
Which is exactly the same defence I went for actually!
Would see us losing if we field that defence to be honest, given that Wenger will probably field a side who may lack grit, but will be predominantly fast children complimented by slick passing.

Re: Team vs the Goons
We have experience in that defence bean as well as a strong midfield.
If we were struggling defensively, bring on 2 subs (clichy and richards)

Re: Team vs the Goons
dawg, I don't think its right to take zabba and kolarov off, it will damage their confidence. I remember Kolarov had a blinder not so long ago...
moonchester team is good and then bring Rekik for Hargreaves becasue he won't last more than 60mins...

Re: Team vs the Goons
I'd view Rekik as more a centre half. So if he comes on for Hargreaves we would have to switch to 3-5-2 formation pretty much.
I havent seen much of Assulin yet either, maybe get him to the bench possibly? run him our later on .

Re: Team vs the Goons
I think we should bring on youth as subs, the will have energy and a point to prove... Also always zabba could move to the midfield and kolo to the right... we have options, but I have the feeling that we will lose this one... mancini's priority is the league since his poor team slecetion against Napoli...

Re: Team vs the Goons
Got that feeling too G. Personally I think w should really have a go at the CC, if we win tonight, that's three games left to play? Getting a piece of silverware under the belt halfway through the season would take the pressure off us and hopefully instill enough confidence in the players to follow it up with the title.

Re: Team vs the Goons
i honestly believe a lot depends on how serious wenger is A) he is under pressure to win silverware but his squad is not overly strong so does he prioritise the league & champs league? That could play into our hands in so much as we do not have to name the strongest of teams to be on par with them> It is also handy thet Barry & Balotelli serve their suspensions tonight, so will be available for saturday.

Re: Team vs the Goons
I can guarantee you now, if we beat Arsenal and the rags beat Crystal Palace, we'll be drawn together for the semi.
