1st win in 36 years
Not a great game but our 1st win in 36 years at Goonsville
Quality goal & great to see 55,000 Goons having a tantrum
They really are a bunch of pansies

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Yeah, good win...but pretty shite performance TBF. How the fuck did Dzeko get MOM???
Thought Zaba was superb tonight, apart from him and a typical Aguero finish....we were distinctly ....well, very average. But to win with that type of performance....sort of says how shit Arsenal's squad players are.
TBF....Chamberlain was the best player on the pitch!
Bring on United...you know they will draw us against them again.

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Just finished watching it - 9:45 pm - brilliant run by Edin and equally great pass to Johnno - who tapped it for Aguero. Otherwise - not City's best performance. Can't believe those Arsehole fans with Nasri. The commentator was as bad as the fans. Never shut up about the boos at Nasri. Sickening. He definitely wanted Arsenal to win.

Re: 1st win in 36 years
I doubt you mean Alan Smith Wensdi as that's who we had on Sky, no bias there either eh. He was crying just like their fans were at the end, as another trophy goes out of the window for them.
I agree with the above, i too thought Chamberlain was the best player last night but they very rarely give MOM to a losing player do they. I thought Pants was far from pants last night, look very assured and confident.

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Strange tactics by Arsenal, they seemed to be chasing the ball like a pack of wolves and wouldn't give City chance to settle on the ball. Good shifts from Kolo, Panty, Zab and Dzeko.
Re: 1st win in 36 years
Nice to see Hargreaves play again, but he didn't look comfortable.
I think Edin was OK, Zaba did well as left back, I think that tells Bridge he will never play again but after seeing him on the bench he doesn't look that bothered.

I think it's bollocks that the losing side can't have MOTM. Oxlade-Chamberlain was in everything and he'd have scored a corking goal had it not been for Pants world class save.
Dzeko wasn't MOTM for me anyway. Pants should've got it, he made some great saves and if it weren't for him, Oxlade-Chamberlain would've scored a beauty as well.

Re: 1st win in 36 years
no way was dzeko MoM.
I read a few reports today and it always makes interesting reading. I think it was the MEN that said zabba had a quite game!
The Ox was easily MoM for me - always looked dangerous and made it a tough night for zabba

Re: 1st win in 36 years
For me Zab was MoM because of the way he handled Ox,
A good performance from Kolo especially with the lack of football he's had this year.
Onuoha was solid at the back but wasted a lot of possession thru poor passes.
Pant's played well (good to know we have a good B/Up to Heart)
I think Dzeko did OK, he chased around a lot and was brilliant for the goal.

For all the stick we give to Kolo cos he's a bit slow - he made some fine clearances last night. Future star in Chamberlain though. When is the draw for the next round - expect it won't be Cardiff!!

I've heard it's after the Rags game tonight, but don't hold me to that.

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Ned was solid in defence but he must have thought he was still at sunderland the way he was just hoofing the ball upfield.
we try to play a more cultured style than those cloggers.
The Ox would have been my MoM. He was a handful.

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Did anyone else notice when Kolorov got subbed after 30 minutes, the 'I'm not biased' Alan Smith's classic line..'no professional footballer likes being yanked off after 30 minutes'??
Is that so Alan? Only, I heard that young Master Rooney likes being yanked off after 5 minutes at an old folks home

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Yesterday I said it was nailed on that we'd draw the rags in the semi final if we got through. But Liverpool have got through too, so I've had a bit of a rethink.
The FA want the competition to mean more, so how about two showcase fixtures to raise it? We'd have the North West "Clash of the Titans" derby with United and Liverpool, and the new and improved Manc derby. Now, given we're at the top of the table and unbeaten, the thought occurs that the fixtures may end up like this:
Liverpool v United - This way round so the second leg is at the swamp, where United will edge through.
Cardiff v City - not that it should matter, but second leg at ours so we get the advantage.
The us versus the rags in the final!
But, all that said, I still expect it to be us and the rags in the semi. With the second leg at the toilet.

I saw that Wensdi. What on earth is going on at Edgley park? I remember the glory days when Georg Best played for them, now they look like there up for relegatoin from the Blue Sq premier.
Lets hope the salford red socks take the same route into oblivion!

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Yeah, they certainly did. If I remember, it was 5-0 at half time and 7-0 after an hour. I think Grimsby gave up after that. I thought it was going to be an absolute massacre.
Stockport are in the Conference now, aren't they?

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Nice to finally win at arsenal, pity we played pretty shit though.I believe Edin got MOTM,which considering he was dreadful was quite a feat, perhaps they could have gone the whole hog and given it Johnson, now he was really shit.
Pants did well and I thought nedum did himself no harm.Just want to draw the rags in the semi now,I'm sure we'll stuff them over two legs

Re: 1st win in 36 years
Think Dzeko had a much better second half than first - and whereas he's not real dextrous with his passes and shots on goal - he damn well played a great through ball for Johnson when it mattered. You didn't mention Kolo either - who cleared several shots off the line without giving away free kicks. Goalie did well - Aguero wasn't playing as well as he can either - but redeemed himself with the goal at the end. Thought Ned was okay but hoofed the ball a lot instead of passing.
