Can't see the FA rescinding the red card
Just can't see it at all. They would have to admit that Foy got it wrong and they are hardly going to do that.
Was it excessive force? I really don't think so.

maybe we could get it reduced to a yellow?
A phone call to David Berstein might be in order!

we really don't need the 4 game ban as JoLo and robbie don't fill me with too much confidence as a centre back pairing

No chance. It was 2 footed although not dangerous & he won the ball cleanly it will still be seen as reckless. He will be a massive loss
Savic will have to step up to the mark big time

in my view, it wasn't out of control which would be worth the red card.

but the "letter of the law" backs up the referee.
Nevermind he wasn't even giving a free kick until Rooney got onto him.

Dermott Gallagher was on the radio this morning backing Foy (well he would wouldn't he), saying that after the outcry from the Lampard challenge last week all "reckless/dangerous" tackles would be sternly dealt with by the referees.
This decision will not be over-turned.
Rooney is a wanker too .

Not all ex referees agree:

Poll thinks the refs performance was pretty awful all day.

That makes a refreshing change.
Foy was inept all day. The worst tackle all day that went UNpunished was Carricks on Aguero, disgraceful and cynical.

If the panel stick along the lines of " 2 footed, in the air, not in control of his movement"............then what about Giggs' 2 footed tackle on Aguero from behind, that took Aguero down?
2 footed, from behind.....and IF he was in control of his movement, then it was a deliberate 2 footed tackle from behind, if not in control, the he ticks 2 out of 3 of the criteria for a red card.....what did he get? Fuck all, not even a yellow!!

We should appeal it anyway. We've shown we're not given to frivolous appeals and we've got a damn good case that Foy was influenced by the jug eared scouse potato faced arsewipe.

No way it will be rescinded, too much at stake for them all.
I'm happy to play that back 5 while Vinnie is off (minus Koloshite obviously). Not the best, but will serve us well at Anfield. It's only the Spurs game we need to worry about really.
Will just have to play counter attack for a few games.

That back 5 is a good plan and I reckon we could make it work against the spuds. Their attacking options are a bit limited without Adeturncoat and I reckon we could keep them very quiet and hit them on the break.

Re: Can't see the FA rescinding the red card
Mancini was rightly pissed off, he couldn't keep it in, after doing a no comment on the sending off, his passions finally got the better of him.
He can take a lot of credit for the new defensive formation he pulled out, and it might be an option to switch between the 2 formations during a game depending upon the opposition.
He's got right behind the team and come out and said, if we play like that for the rest of the season, we'll win the title, a bold statement, but this loss yesterday, the suspension of Kompany might just create a siege mentality in the squad and galvanise us further.
We need to go out now, and punish every team we play against, we should fear no one now.

Re: Can't see the FA rescinding the red card
The scousers on ja606 think we are there for the taking home and away !! Even after the 3-0 when we were nothing like 2nd half Sunday.
I say go all out for 3-0 or 4-0 on Wednesday and then we can take it easy for the return.
