I don't know if this has been spoken of on here before but I've just noticed the Porto home leg is kicking off at 5 in the afternoon!

I know I've said in the past I'm not really up for the Thursday night cup but I wouldn't mind being able to watch it on the box, but no way at that time in the afternoon in mid week.

Is this another attempt by the media to ridicule us as I can't see it being a full house at that time of day.

I'm working from home that day, will have to make sure ipick my son up from nursery early, to get home in time to see the game! he shouts "goal!!" when City score, been doing a lot of it lately!!!

Unless they do the cheap tickets for kids It'll only fill up for the 2nd half

They're not opening level 3 apparently. Joke kick off time, can't see who it benefits or why.

I'm all for blaming the scum bags for everything from golbal warming to the banks, but how does them playing at home on a thursday affect our home game on a wednesdsay?

I thought it was a bit of a stretch to blame them for that as well.
But I'll buy into it only because I utterly detest them Very Happy

With police and city authorities ruling out the two clubs playing on the same
day and United having first choice as English champions,Manchester
City
have to move to a Tuesday or Wednesday, with a 5pm kick-off to
avoid a clash with Champions League games on the same nights.

The only other option was to give up home advantage in the second leg but
manager Roberto Mancini and director of football Brian Marwood have ruled
out that option.

Just a thought, but how does our kick off time affect the Champs League? Two different competitions, with matches being shown on different channels. Do these people not realise we have facilities to record TV shows?

That said, on the basis of EL attendances last season (and that pitiful 23,000 against Timisoara), I'm hardly surprised that nobody's bothered it's on early.

I'm just leaving work early that day to go and see it.

Thanks Dawg.

Heaven forbid we clash with any champions league games!
