Tough, tough game against Porto, should have scored with Mario's 2 glorious chances, but were not out of it yet, looking better with YaYa and Silva linking up in midfield, if we can get an away goal were set for the home leg.
Mario needs to sort his runs out, however, we look stronger with YaYa, so as long as we keep it down to a goal in arrears I'm confident well recover at home

we look comfortable most of the time, but have been guilty of giving easy possession away when we are pushing up.
i am surprised by the number of times they put passes between our midfield and defence.

Fantastic 2nd half! YaYa is back, and can't you just tell!! No wonder mancini was so keen to play him. We look like the team who started the season

Get in!!! Very professional performance by us tonight. All playd well, Micah worried me a bit with his buccanneering runs from defense at times, but overall apart from one or two sleepy moments, plan worked well.

Very happy. Excellent performance. ! Thought we were going to get battered after the 1st 1/2 hour but we weathered the storm & were superb in the 2nd half
Thought NDJ was back to his awesome best. Barry & Silva were fantastic
Vince was dominant at the back and Yaya how we have missed you. Outstanding !

Must hold my hands up and say "i was wrong" called Yaya a lazy sod who looks not bothered..but God we have missed him. Tonight the rest of the team looked composed and confident, like thier Big Brother had come home to look after them. Silva, Nasri VK Barry NDJ and Lescott stood out for me great all round performance.
Re: Tonight's team vs Porto
If we can play like that for the rest of the season, I will be able to relax during games again! YaYa is the catalyst for 3/4 of what happens in our games, like a battering ram, he punches holes in opponents defences, making tap ins for Sergio et al
I know I shouldn't delight in another teams misfortune, but Valencia is out for a month for united with a hamstring problem, could make all the difference in the prem.
Roberto, clone YaYa now!!!

Re: Tonight's team vs Porto
Amazing that it took Ya Ya to be gone for a few weeks for us to realize how integral he is in the team. No more Ya Ya "lazy fat bastard" comments. LOL
I absolutely hate the European matches. The commentator is always a wimp - the background noise drives me up the wall and as for a lot of the teams - they are just drama queens when they get tackled. Oscar worthy performances. When they foul us though - like that smart elbow in Mario's face - they just shrug and look incredulously at the ref. Who me?
I much prefer the race for the PL - the atomosphere and commentary is so much better. 6 yellow cards for us and only 2 for them. They sure make a meal of everything. Well done City - everyone played well and welcome home Ya Ya.

Re: Tonight's team vs Porto
Great win, despite a dodgy 1st 25 minutes or so, City still had the best chances in the 1st half (Mario and Nasri missing 1 on 1s) and imo didn't really deserve to be behind. The 2nd half we were in total control and got exactly what we deserved.
I was impressed by NDJs work rate last night, he looked like he had a point to prove, especially with Yaya coming back. Silva and Yaya make a difference when they're on song and even Lescott's starting to look half decent now.
Imo we look a better team when Richards and Clichy get forward down the wings, we out-numbered them numerous times and caused endless problems doing this. Top performance all round, let's just finish the job off next week now.
