I don't think he looks as bad as you're making out here blue. Ok so he's put on a couple of pounds over the last few weeks, he's not exactly piled the excess on. I'm pretty sure that will all be lost in the 1st week of pre season training, it's not like there's a game tomorrow.

Anyway, if he's not upto speed come the 1st game and is on the bench because he's not fit enough, then he'll only have himself to blame.

Rooney had at least 2 weeks after his end of season holiday to get back to playing fitness before his international ban ended and he turned out looking like orca the whale.
