Well, he's gonna be a fightin blue.

Just wanted to add. I know what Pep achieved at Barca and i know most people would welcome him at City (me included) but we have to bare in mind the team he inheritted and subsequently built at Barca.............i could have won the CL with that team. Is he really all that?

but mancini also has a great squad and he's struggling with it.

looking at the summer transfers again, we spent £50M and didn't buy any player that would actually immediately improve the team

Tbh honest Dawg, i don't think we knew that much about Garcia and Nasty to make that judgement and did Maicon not have a top reputation when he came? Maicon and Garcia haven't impressed thus far but have been injured for the most part and Nasty imo seems to have done ok. I think Sinclair had a great season at Swansea and is arguably an improvement on the useless AJ, just wish Mancini would give him a go more than he does. Rodwell on the other hand has always been injury prone and was a strange buy, i can only presume he was purchased because he was English.

I agree with Shaken. Yes I think I would prefer him to Mancini, and a lot is that because of his attitude and temperament...but let's not forget the Barca team he inherited, and also he won NOTHING last season.

would you take nothing one season for an average of over 2 trophies a season in the longer run?

Good point, but think United (last season) was the first time they hadn't won something for 8 years I think. And Barca have a much better squad.

Obviously, and that may well be the gamble the owners take, as there's no guarentee that'll happen.

Does Mancini have trouble motivating players for kick off?
They only ever seem to get into gear in the 2nd half! how many times have we seen this happen? with the majority of our goals scored in the 2nd half, many late in the game... I just don't understand.
As you say, cat among the pigeons, lets see what Bobby's made of, he only seems to work his hardest when backed into a corner and his job threatened.
Well, next game will reveal much......

I still honestly believe bobby had little choice but to accept rodwell, sinclair and to a certain extent garcia. all of mancini,s targets were dismissed by marwood as too expensive fifa fairplay etc etc. garcia can be a good signing and i think he will be unfortunate to kop an injury just 3 games in Maicon was a total mystery to me. Both rodwell & sinclair have time on their side rodwell i think can come good i am not so sure about sinclair though. not beating wensdi's drum but i would have opted for Moses.

I also think Sinclair will prove to be good for us - if the stubborn one gives him a chance. He's certainly given Mario many, many chances - go figure. Rodwell will probably blossom also if he can stay injury free. (I would rather have had Cahill,Jagielka or Dembele) but never mind. Once Silva Milner and Micah are fit - we should have some good options.

Sinclair is a mystery, what was the purpose of getting him if not to play him?Maybe AJ was correct when he said that young players have no future at the Etihad. The least Bobby could do is give the lad a chance, but that is why AJ left wasn't it,not enough playing time. The biggest clanger in my mind was getting rid of Nigel, and I know a lot of supporters feel the same,we really do miss him,and especially as how Yaya is playing:)

For a second there, I thought he was considering Wigan! I think it's because you speak so highly of the young Mr. Martinez, I forgot about the Bob at the helm over in Chelsea.
