Anyone got a spare tenner?
What a shame it is to see this once proud and illustious club in such dire financial trouble.

The long-term loan will only be refinanced so many times before Mr Davies wants his cash back....what then, really hope they don't turn out to be the next Pompey .
Anyone help?

I don't know why they just don't sell Ngog. His transfer fee would easily wipe the debt.
In all seriousness, it is extremely sad what is happening lately to some football clubs. I don't really understand it, is it bad owners or advisors or simply too much outgoings?
Shame, hope they sort it out. I like Bolton.

Even my wife has written them off Shaken, and she's had season tickets there for a large % of her life.
I for one would not be upset, certainly make it easier in Horwich on match days
PS. I'm actually going this Saturday to watch the mighty trotters v Barnsley. I wasn't going to the Villa game and the little one was given free tickets from School. So rest assured I'm not helping them out of their financial hole, it's a freebie

I certainly don't think they are going to do a Portsmouth unless Eddie Davies wants his money back. I think with him and Warburton's they have enough in reserve. I don't think they would have got rid of Coyle if that was the case anyway.

"mighty trotters"........how dare you say that blisterin .
Glad to see your tenner's kept well and truely in your pocket mate .
I too have the feeling Mr Davies won't jump ship anytime soon....ah well.

I believe there's way too much money in football and that's the big issue that clubs face. Unless they have plenty of income, a serviceable debt or a wealthy benefactor propping them up, they are just going to fade away. And unfortunately this is especially true of bigger clubs based in towns.
Bolton is an excellent case in point. They are totally reliant on local support in order to bring in the money from gate receipts. While they were in the PL, fans would be willing to fork out £40 to watch the team play other PL sides. But now they've gone down a tier, that forty quid becomes a bigger ask when facing other provincial town teams who just aren't as good to watch. Crowds will inevitably drop off at that price, so either you put up with smaller crowds, or reduce prices - and either way the income drops. It happened to Leeds, Forest and both Sheffield clubs, and they are from cities where the fan base is much larger, so it's inevitable that town based clubs will suffer more where fans are in shorter supply. Take a look at Oldham or Coventry, struggling against relegation from League 1 and yet both were PL founding members and, perhaps more telling, close enough to other clubs with PL status to cause fairweather fans to drift away.
It doesn't help Bolton that they are only a short distance from three PL sides which all offer a much more attractive proposition than playing Ipswich on a wet Friday evening.
