Team for Chelsea
Going to be a tough game on Sunday. I think the players will be out to make a point for the new manager, although I'm sure some of them will feel slightly aggrieved.
Anyway, I'd drop Nasri, Maicon, Dzeko, Kolorov and Yaya.
-----------------Joe-------------------
--Zaba-------Vince (if fit)--Nasty----Clichy
-------------Barry------Garcia------------
---Silva-----------Milner-----------Sinclair
-----------Augero--------Tevez---------

I agree with the selection Joe, defo drop those you mentioned. I doubt RM will drop Yaya though.
Would be nice to see Sinclair for once against his old employers.

Right, if all are fit (don't think Vinny will be) then this is how i think we'll line up:
....................Lil Joe
Zab..........Nasty........Lescott......Clichy
............Milner..................Barry
...Tevez...............Yaya...........Silva
...................Aguero
Who friggin knows though!!!!
ps. We can't play with 12 joe

Haha, ahhhh Shaken way ahead of the game with the edit function. I'll stick with my 12. Easy game with 12.
In that case I'd take Garcia out.

Re: Team for Chelsea
I think we might be struggling with Clichy & Kompany for Sunday so i would go with;
Hart
Milner Nastasic Lescott Zabaleta
Garcia Barry
Nasri Yaya Silva
Aguero
Milner played at right back a few times for Villa and i would much rather see him play there and zabaleta switch to left back than have to watch Kolorov or Maicon pretend to be defenders

Viable option Pplf but i just can't see RM doing it myself. He'd definately put Maicon in before Milner but Zab at LB is definately a goer.

Trouble is I have a horrible feeling Yaya's contract says differently !! City burn their blank team sheets with his name permanently embossed !! Can be the only reason he is ever present.
Chelsea are there for a battering. Twist the knife even more because the Benitez appointment is shocking.

Re: Team for Chelsea
I just get the feeling from his press conference and his refusal to accept that 4-3-2-1 is the best formation, he'll go for that.
Clichy is out, Vinny will have to pass a late fitness test.
Chelsea don't normally play with width, they play very narrow, so wing-backs may be the solution. Maicon and Kolorov squeezing Mata, Hazard and Oscar - Tevez all over Ramires and Mikel - leaving Barry to mop up and Silva free to annoy Luiz (who loves to advance) and play in Sergio.
I think of all the games - 3-2-1-3-1 !! against Chelsea is the right formation.

I must be in the minority who thought Maicon gives us some attacking penetration down the wings!

I agree BewareThe Moon - Maicon deffo give us some attacking penetration down the wing - being a bit too cynical if you can't see that.

I think Maicon gives us attacking options on the wing, that's why he is my wing back............however, only whenever we are not playing teams with out and out wingers - as he just doesn't pick them up when they have the ball.....and get's caught too forward (therefore - against wingers he cannot be used to his full potential).

Re: Team for Chelsea
We need to win tomorrow now, especially after the rags came through their exceedingly tough game at home against a managerless team that hasn't won all season and was wrecked by one of their own superstars. Can't have them top, can we!

Re: Team for Chelsea
Well, Lawro's got us down to lose, so that's a good sign...!
Hopefully Vinny will be OK, as he seems to be forming a good understanding with Nasty! Terry is out for Chelsea, so Side show Bob Luis will be in with either Cahill or Ivanovic ( which will curtail his runs down the wing) either way a plus point for our attackers, as Chelsea aren't too clever at the back without Terry.
I think Clichy will be fit, so Maicon can be on the bench and be part of plan B to either chase or stretch the game in the 2nd half...
3-1 City
