Talk Shite & Gollum ?

Now I know it is only Talk Shite but an interesting point this morning. Whispers out of Everton are that Gollum won't be there next season.

Brazil and that Rag Irani think he can only then be headed to either us or Chelski?

Would we welcome Taggart II ? You can't deny he's not a bad manager, but is he the sort of personality our owners want?

Might all be irrelevant if we win the title, but I'm personally a little torn as I think he is the sort of manager to take zero shite from the premadonas.

and that may cause us a problem because i don't think we are that stage where we can piss off too many players. ferguson has that status where he can do this and they'll always get a replacement in. can we afford to lose a couple of our best players like Yaya and Silva because the manager rubs them up the wrong way?

I'm a firm believer of tough love though. Who knows it may work wonders? But you are right we can't afford to upset the apple cart too much.

I still think if Mario goes this window we will see a completely rejuvenated team. Bobby won't be wasting any more of his time on the waster.

Moyes would be a great shout imo and i don't care if he does upset one or 2 when installed....some of them actually need telling to fuckin shape.

Interesting you say us or Chelsea...i actually envisaged him going to the swamp. Apparently Mourinho keeps in regular contact with Abramovic, so i'd expect him to end up there. So, if Bobby lad doesn't produce the goods this season, i fully expect a new man at the helm and Moyes wouldn't be that bad a choice.

the problem with the media is that one starts a story and other add to it or distort it.

the moyes story started off as he may be offered the chelsea job. Now it has changed or chelsea or city.

zaha was going to utd for £6M then it was £10M then £15M then £17M. Now it's back down to £12M.

Trouble with everybody expecting him going to the swamp is original Taggart shows no sign of going anywhere. So if Moyes is nearing the end of his Everton contract he has to think about his options now.

It does indeed seem like the "Special" one is returning to the bridge. Will make it interesting next season if that is the case.

He has, yes. But so did MON at Villa, yet he's not exactly tearing up trees at Sunderland. And Hughes was the same at Blackburn, but look how royally he screwed up with us, Fulham and QPR.

I dare say Moyes has a bit more about him to control players, but could it be that, given money to spend, he'd end up being a Glaswegian Hughes? I guess there's only one way to find out, but I'd rather we weren't the guinea pigs.

TBH I'd prefer to keep Bobby than get Moyes, even if Bobby doesn't win us the league again. Can't see Moyes doing any better

Moyes has been fantastic for Everton but it could be that he feels its time to move on. I rate him & think if Everton had given him more money to spend they would have been a top four team years ago, but if the moneys not there fair play to the club for keeping a steady ship.

What the fuck has he won? Birmingham won a League Cup, so did Middlesbrough. Portsmouth won an FA Cup FFS...Everton haven't won anything since 1995.

He gets his teams all pumped up for the big matches then fails to motivate for the smaller teams and there are far too many home defeats by the likes of wigan on his cv for my liking.Doubt very much he has the personality to bring in ,motivate and keep the big names happy

couldn't get his team going for an away day on the south coast yesterday, so that is a worry for me too.

I'm with shaken, I think he'll have more of an idea than Bobby !! I still maintain Bobby has been a lucky manager with us. Still frustrates the arse off of me playing 2 DMs at home against the lower teams. I know it's his "Italian" way but sometimes there is just no need.

Plus we may see the back of "what really does he do?" Platt if Gollum comes.

Anyway if we win anything it will all be immaterial, Bobby will be going nowhere.
