Is Wanyama any good?

I don't really know as I don't watch footy below championship level...

Victor Wanyama.......really???????

Certainly hope we don't pay anywhere near £50m for Cavani either, but selling Dzeko and puchasing him is a great swap.....as long as Tevez stays too!

Do not rate Wanyama that highly.

Personally I feel its all a load of media balderdash.

He looks decent where I'm concerned. Puts a shift in, which is something we are craving at the minute.

He's a bit of a Yaya though, so would he play? Could be a decent Barry replacement as Barry isn't getting any younger will probably play less games next year.

Tell you what we do need is someone to take the game by the scruff of the next, and not float about aimlessly looking invisible (a la Nasri). Look at Bale recently, he runs at people, which we don't do and I think we really need that at the minute.

I'd even go as far to say that we miss Johnson.

Jordan he is a grafter yeah, but little finese, not the touch and skill of Yaya and yes he plays the same role.

I thought the crock Rodwell was brought to replace Barry?

We do need attacking pacey players, Bale and Walcott would do me, but we dont really miss Johnson IMO, but why not try Sinclair?

I can only think it's because of Bobby's stubborn streak. Same reason Mario got chance after chance after chance.

It really does just look like Sinclair was bought without any input from Bobby and he just does not rate him.

But if we are seriously considering £50m for Cavani have we not learnt a single lesson so far? I hope it is just media garbage but sometimes I do just despair.

Sunderland fans don't seem too enthusiastic with Adam Johnson
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/195801-take-johnson-with-you

We certainly need some width
Having no plan B whatsoever has caused real problems this year and had probably cost us points at west ham,QPR and Sunderland among others

It's all media speculation, is this. Fifty mill for Cavani, in this new era of FFP, is never going to happen unless we sell on for some big money. And we can't realistically afford to do that as we need most of them. As for Wanyama, he's only been flagged thanks to his tireless performance against Juventus on Tuesday and the Fail have gone, "Hey, he looked pretty good, let's link him with City!"

Over the last three years we've been linked with anyone and everyone who is any good. I take all of this with a pinch of salt. Which probably explains my high cholesterol level ...

Isn't the new TV deal worth an extra £50M a season from next year? I thought that money was going to make us break even from FFP.

As your local Scottish correspondent with his thumb on the pulse of Scottish football Laughing.....Wanyama is not the player we need, he is big and strong, not easy to knock off the ball and he passes well but he is not the fastest and certainly no YaYa. I would pass, we need somebody with pace and vision to scare the crap out of people and supply the strikers and also chip in with a few goals too.

Really? I thought that would just make us break even in the 2013/14 season. Maybe I've missed something then.

It's all a load of rollocks. Nothing we've every read in those papers has ever happened. As for Bobby having a "stubborn" streak (regarding playing Sinclair) - think the writer is being kind. Stubborn bordering on totally inflexible/bloody minded/uncompromising.

We definitely need a creative midfielder, but I think what we are missing is Nigel De Jong.I still do not understand why he was released, just another of Bobbys classic substitutions? Heres hoping we do get some decent signings, and that the new fellas from Spain are on top of it. Smile

I think NDJ was let go because of his Agent and IMO Tevez will follow suit.
Kia whatever his name....
Would not be bothered if Dzeko went Kolorov and Tevez only for the above mentioned but definatley need someone to take charge in midfield...someone with passion and speed, a top quality striker as good as RVP but there is only a few of them Carvani being one of them.
