West Ham hit the jackpot...and we are all paying for it

West Ham have got themselves the Olympic Stadium, with it being converted to a 54,000 seater stadium paid for mostly by the government, the London Mayor and other public money. In fact, they are only putting up £15M towards the conversion and getting a 99 year lease for £2M a year. If they can sell Upton park for development, who knows how much they are going to make from this deal. A £630M stadium for peanuts.

This really should help them to be a much stronger force in the premier league especially if they can regularly get near capacity.

We also got lucky with our stadium, but I think the council got a better deal out of us.

I went on the City stadium tour yet and found out we currently pay £4m a year to rent our stadium.

We still rent as if we bought it we'd still have to pay a hefty tax to the council, however now it works out better for everyone just to pay the £4m.
