Tuesday Night
After Blackpool's point at Spurs (thanks lads) we need a point on Tuesday to make the CL ( I know Liverpool could still nick it, but we should win one of the last two).
As such, how do you think we'll play against Spurs?
Will Bobby keep it tight and look to nick the point, or will we go for it?
Bearing in mind the huge game coming up at the weekend i'd like us to really go at them first half, and hopefully have a lead to defend for the second.
Unfortunately I can see Mancini going for the 0-0, with the same outcome as last year.

I dont think we will play for a point I think we will play as we did in the first half today. Depending on were we are at 60 minutes, how close the game is and how many oif our players do or dont go missing then I think he will have an eye on the silverware on Saturday.
Always a big distraction but we have to learn to cope with it

Mancini is a fool if he doesn't rest, yaya, silva, dejong on tuesday. We only need a point and even if we lose its not a big deal...

Saturday for me is more important than the Spurs game. We can afford to lose to Spurs and still get 4th. Liverpool-Spurs next weekend could be the key to us and our Champions League ambitions.

Think we need to get a point from Spurs match - confidence will be low if we lose 2 on the bounce.

Re: Tuesday Night
Spurs are garbage at the moment, Blackpool should have slapped um yesterday with the chances they had. Bale's out now, so City should litterally fear no-one (including VDV) in this game.
Silva may get rested but i can't see many more than him tbh. Get a couple of goals up (which imo they will), then take NDJ/Yaya off after 60mins........simples.

If the spuds have done their homework they will attack the dreadful kolorov with Lennon and feed crouch with a constant flow into the box.If lescott marks him he'll have a field day.

Let's hope Vinny does then paul.
Are you saying Kolarov's not got the speed to keep up with Lennon ?
I think the Spuds should be more worried about us than the other way round tbh.

Re: Tuesday Night
Not many would keep up with the little sod so we would need to effectively double up on him as he will be their main threat.Perhaps we could play zab at left back with sweep in front of him to match him for pace with Milner or boyata at right back?

Re: Tuesday Night
I'd play a weakened side. As someone else said we don't need to win against the Spuds. We need everyone fit & available for the Cup Final
Leave Kompany, NDJ, Silva, Barry, Yaya out for Tuesday
Play Boyata, Milner, Sweep, Jo ( Can't believe I just said that ! ) Vieira

Re: Tuesday Night
I disagree, the game against the Spuds is vitally important to Citys future plans. 3pts against them virtually secures that 3rd spot, defeat could well jepordise a CL place which imo is the main objective (winning the FA Cup is nothing more than a bonus).
The objective from Mancini imo should be to get a couple of goals up by the 60minute mark (with a full squad, maybe minus Silva) then take the likes of NDJ, Silva, Kompany etc etc off in preperation for the final.

Got to play a full strength side, we are setting ourselves up for another fall if we dont wrap it up on tuesday, no guarentees we will win the last 2 games so take the pressure off now, go to Wembley full of confidence.

Re: Tuesday Night
Play at full strength - have to take one game at a time. Spuds have not been on form but will be well up to kick our ass. Don't need to leave things until the last match.
Need some confidence going into the Stoke match - they are playing so well at the moment and we are not.

Re: Tuesday Night
If Liverpool fail to win at Fulham tommorrow then they're out of it so a point should do against Spuds.
I'd have Silva and Yaya on the bench with Barry and Milner replacing them. SWP should start as he tracks back but Mancini doesn't seem to realise that. Having Richards and Tevez fit would be massive.

Re: Tuesday Night
What happens if we play a full team & still lose?
Our confidence will be low, the players will be knackered & we risk injury to key players.
I say concentrate on the Cup & then we have 2 more games after the Spud game still in the drivers seat & Spuds still to go to Anfield

"Need some confidence going into the Stoke match - they are playing so well at the moment and we are not".
Wensdi has it bang on,
On the back of the Everton defeat, another defeat (irrespective of the team he plays) cannot be good for team morale going into the final. City need to go to Wembley on the back of a good result against the Spuds, too many team changes could jepordise this. Winning breads confidence.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What happens if we play a full team & still lose?"
If they lose, they lose. However, if any player's concentrating too much on the final (and not against the Spuds), then their place imo should be up for grabs in the final.

We must go all out for a win and put it to bed before wembley.
Best way to play spuds is attack them and barring the everton and arsenal games,we've been very good at home
