Pellegrini Wed or Thurs
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/pellegrini-s-manchester-city-press-conference-on-wednesday-or-thu
Manchester City fans are probably wondering where on earth Manuel Pellegrini has got himself off to, there's been all kinds of rumours doing the rounds but according to press in Chile it's all sorted. The club and new manager have been talking about transfer targets for days, and that has been seen more important than announcing him as the new manager and dealing with the added attention that would bring.
There are claims in Chile (Soy Chile) and Spain that Pellegrini wanted countryman Alexis Sanchez and Manchester City were working on this deal behind the scenes but the Barcelona player has decided to stay at the Spanish club and fight for his future, at least for one more season to see if he can show his best form there, something he hasn't consistently done yet. That's a shame, the Premier League would appear to suit Sanchez given his performances for Chile.
Pellegrini has signed a three year deal, a year longer than originally reported, according to 24 Horas in Chile, this could also be why the announcement has taken a little longer. However, sorting out a few transfers before wheeling the new manager out sounds like a wise move from Manchester City. It puts him under less pressure and brings less attention to the club and their transfer dealings.
Txiki Begiristain clearly isn't worried, he was strolling around in the Manchester city centre sunshine yesterday evening with family, rather than chasing across the world to iron out last minute Pellegrini problems.
24 Horas say there will be a press conference on either Wednesday or Thursday to announce the new Manchester City manager. There's every possibility Manchester City will use the same event to announce a further signing, with Jesus Navas yet to be completed and the club linked to further players on a daily basis. It's all a very calm approach from the Manchester side and provides a total contrast to last minute business done through the media when they first found their pot of gold.
**********************************************************************
As it says, a very calm approach, all done behind behind the scenes, while it's frustrating for us fans, it seems they're not getting to frantic about it, which I suppose is better for the club so we don't make panic buys at the last minute!

Re: Pellegrini Wed or Thurs
If we get some more good targets, then I'm more than happy to wait a few more days.

Re: Pellegrini Wed or Thurs
Having signed Navas &Fernandinho without too much competition from other sources,it would seem that the powers that be are finally in cohesion, unlike last season. If Pelagrini signs and brings in another couple of the same class this coming season will be a cracker, regardless of what Mourinho or Moyes do.That was an interesting thought an Sanchez,he really has not done it for Barcelona and the change might have done him good!!

Let's hope it's a double signing with either Cavani or Lewandowski!

Txiki is apparently flying out to Spain to try to get Angel Di Maria.... How many wingers dew need? Tho if we buy from Madrid,Mattel just give them more money to peruse Cavani with, rather have Cavani !
